Claims
- 1. An article of manufacture comprising:
- a. a transparent substrate;
- b. sputtered onto a surface of said substrate a discontinuous agglomerated transparent silver film; and
- c. sputtered over said discontinuous agglomerated transparent silver film a continuous transparent copper film.
- 2. An article according to claim 1, wherein the transparent substrate is glass.
- 3. An article according to claim 2, wherein the discontinuous agglomerated silver film is sputtered to a thickness having a transmission minimum, as measured on the glass substrate, between about 40 and 55 percent.
- 4. An article according to claim 3, wherein said transmission minimum is between about 42 and 50 percent.
- 5. An article according to claim 4, wherein said transmission minimum is between about 44 and 46 percent.
- 6. An article according to claim 3, wherein the copper film is sputtered to a thickness sufficient to yield a transmission of about 5 to 30 percent for the silver/copper coated glass article.
- 7. An article according to claim 6, wherein the transmission of the silver/copper coated glass article is about 15 to 25 percent.
- 8. An article according to claim 6, wherein the article has a low reflectance pinkish colored appearance.
