Claims
- 1. The method of producing a low-tin terne coated steel article, the weight of the coating being about 0.05 oz./ft..sup.2 (15.2 g./m..sup.2), through the entire range of commercial coating weights and being the only metallic coating on said article, which includes the steps of passing the article through a bath consisting essentially of from about 2% tin to about 6.5% tin and the balance lead, with no other purposeful additions, and including only impurities normally present, in an amount less than 1%, and immediately upon its issuance from said bath subjecting it to a jet finishing operation.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the tin content of the bath is from about 2% to about 6%.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the tin content of the bath is from about 2% to about 5%.
