Claims
- 1. A lubricant composition comprisinga) a base oil of lubricating viscosity used for greases, for metal-working fluids, for gear fluids or for hydraulic fluids; b) at least one thiophosphoric acid ester of formula I wherein R1, R2 and R3 are substitutents selected from the group consisting of C3-C20alkyl, C5-C12cycloalkyl, C7-C12bicycloalkyl, phenyl, C7-C18alkylphenyl, C7-C18alkoxyphenyl, naphthyl and C7-C9phenylalkyl c) at least one compound of formula II wherein X is oxygen or sulfur, and R1 and R2 are unsubstituted C3-C10hydrocarbon radicals and R3 is C2-C4-alkyl which is substituted by a group of the sub-formula wherein Rx and Ry are hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl; and d) at least one oil additive selected from the group consisting of polyol partial esters, primary C1-C20alkylamines, secondary C1-C20alkylamines, alkanolamines, etheramines, polyoxyalkylene diamines, polyoxyalkylene polyamines, primary amines having C5-C6cycloalkyl radicals, secondary amines having C5-C6cycloalkyl radicals and epoxides with the proviso that the composition is metal free.
- 2. A composition according to claim 1 wherein the phosphorus content of the thiophosphoric acid ester component b) combined with the compound of formula II component c), based on the composition comprising components a), b) and c), is less than 400 ppm.
- 3. A composition according to claim 1 comprising b) a mixture of thiophosphoric acid esters of formula: wherein x is from 0 to 2.7, y is 3−(x+z), z is from 0 to 3−(x+y) and x+y+z=3, and Ar is phenyl, C7-C18alkylphenyl, C7-C18alkoxyphenyl, naphthyl or C7-C9phenylalkyl.
- 4. A composition according to claim 1 comprising c) at least one dithiophosphoric acid ester of formula II wherein X is sulfur, R1 and R2 are C3-C10alkyl and R3 is C2-C4-alkyl which substituted by a group of the sub-formula (A), wherein Rx and Ry are hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl.
- 5. A composition according to claim 1 comprising c) at least one dithiophosphoric acid ester of formula II where X is sulfur, R1 and R2 are C3-C10alkyl and R3 is 2-carboxyeth-1-yl or 2-C1-C4alkoxycarbonyleth-1-yl.
- 6. A composition according to claim 1 comprisinga) a base oil of lubricating viscosity used for greases, for metal-working fluids, or gear fluids or for hydraulic fluids; b) mixtures of thiophosphoric acid esters of formula I′ wherein x is from 0 to2.7, y is 3−(x+z), z is from 1 to 3−(x+y) and x+y+z=3, and Ar is phenyl or C7-C18alkylphenyl; c) at least one dithiophosphoric acid ester of formula II wherein X is sulfur, R1 and R2 are C3-C10alkyl and R3 is 2-carboxyeth-1-yl or 2-C1-C4alkoxycarbonyleth-1-yl, d) at least one oil additive selected from the group consisting of polyol partial esters, primary C1-C20alkylamines, secondary C1-C20alkylamines, alkanolamines, etheramines, polyoxyalkylene diamines, polyoxyalkylene polyamines, primary amines having C5-C6cycloalkyl radicals, secondary amines having C5-C6cycloalkyl radicals and epoxides, wherein the phosphorus content of the thiophosphoric acid ester component b) combined with the dithiophosphoric acid ester or phosphoric acid thioester component c), based on the composition comprising components a), b) and c), is less than 400 ppm.
- 7. A lubricant composition according to claim 1 comprising:a) a base oil of lubricating viscosity used for greases, for metal-working fluids, for gear fluids or for hydraulic fluids; b) at least one thiophosphoric acid ester of formula (I): wherein R1, R2 and R3 are substitutents selected from the group consisting of C3-C20alkyl, C5-C12cycloalkyl, C7-C12bicycloalkyl, phenyl, C7-C18alkylphenyl, C7-C18alkoxyphenyl, naphthyl and C7-C9phenylalkyl c) at least one compound of formula (II): wherein X is oxygen or sulfur and R1 and R2 are unsubstituted C3-C10hydrocarbon radicals and R3 is C2-C4alkyl which is substituted by a group of the sub-formula wherein Rx and Ry are hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl; and d) a polyol partial ester.
- 8. A lubricant composition comprisinga) a base oil of lubricating viscosity used for greases, for metal-working fluids, for gear fluids or for hydraulic fluids; b) at least one thiophosphoric acid ester of formula I wherein R1, R2 and R3 are substitutents selected from the group consisting of C3-C20alkyl, C5-C12cycloalkyl, C7-C12bicycloalkyl, phenyl, C7-C18alkylphenyl, C7-C18alkoxyphenyl, naphthyl and C7-C9phenylalkyl; c) at least one dithiophosphoric acid ester of formula II wherein X is sulfur, and R1 and R2 are unsubstituted C3-C10hydrocarbon radicals and R3 is C2-C4-alkyl which is substituted by a group of the sub-formula wherein Rx and Ry are hydrogen or C1-C4alkyl; and d) at least one oil additive selected from the group consisting of polyol partial esters, primary C1-C20alkylamines, secondary C1-C20alkylamines, alkanolamines, etheramines, polyoxyalkylene diamines, polyoxyalkylene polyamines, primary amines having C5-C6cycloalkyl radicals, secondary amines having C5-C6cycloalkyl radicals and epoxides; e) an ammonium phosphate ester of formula III wherein R1 and R2 are C1-C20hydrocarbon radicals, and Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd is each independently of the others hydrogen or a C1-C20hydrocarbon radical; and f) at least one customary oil additive selected from the group consisting of antioxidants, metal passivators, rust inhibitors, viscosity index enhancers, pour-point depressants, dispersants, detergents, extreme-pressure additives and anti-wear additives with the proviso that the composition is metal free.
- 9. A composition according to claim 8 comprising components a) to f) as defined therein, wherein the phosphorus content of components b), c) and e), based on the total composition, is less than 400 ppm.
- 10. A composition according to claim 8 comprising components a) to f) as defined therein, wherein the phosphorus content of components b) and c), based on the composition comprising components a), b) and c), is from 150 to 390 ppm.
- 11. A composition according to claim 8 comprising components a) to f) as defined therein, wherein the phosphorus content of components b) and c), based on the composition comprising components a), b) and c), is from 160 to 370 ppm.
- 12. A composition according to claim 8 comprising e) at least one ammonium phosphate ester of formula III wherein R1 and R2 are C1-C20alkyl, one of the radicals Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd is hydrogen and the other radicals are C1-C20alkyl.
- 13. A composition according to claim 8 comprisinga) a base oil of lubricating viscosity used for greases, for metal-working fluids, for gear fluids or for hydraulic fluids; b) at least one thiophosphoric acid ester of formula I wherein R1, R2 and R3 are phenyl, or mixtures of thiophosphoric esters of formula I′ wherein x is 0 to 2.7, y is 3−(x+z), z is from 0 to 3−(x+y) and x+y+z=3, Ar is phenyl or C7-C18alkylphenyl; c) at least one dithiophosphoric acid ester of formula II wherein X is sulfur, R1 and R2 are C3-C10alkyl and R3 is 2-carboxyeth-1-yl or 2-C1-C4alkoxycarbonyleth-1-yl; d) at least one additive selected from the group consisting of polyol partial esters, primary C1-C20alkylamines, secondary C1-C20alkylamines, alkanolamines, etheramines, polyoxyalkylene diamines, polyoxyalkylene polyamines, primary amines having C5-C6cycloalkyl radicals, secondary amines having C5-C6cycloalkyl radicals and epoxides; e) at least one ammonium phosphate ester of formula III wherein R1 and R2 are C1-C20alkyl, one of the radicals Ra, Rb, Rc and Rd is hydrogen and the other radicals are C1-C20alkyl; f) at lease one customary oil additive selected from the group consisting of antioxidants, metal passivators, rust inhibitors, viscosity index enhancers, pour-point depressants, dispersants, detergents, extreme-pressure additives and anti-wear additives; wherein the phosphorus content of components b), c) and e), based on the total composition, is less than 400 ppm.
- 14. A concentrate comprisingb) at least one thiophosphoric acid ester of formula I: wherein R1, R2 and R3 are substitutents selected from the group consisting of C5-C20alkyl, C5-C12cycloalkyl, C7-C12bicycloalkyl, phenyl, C7-C18alkylphenyl, C7-C18alkoxyphenyl, naphthyl and C7-C9phenylalkyl; c) at least one compound of formula II: wherein X is oxygen or sulfur and R1, R2 and R3 are unsubstituted or substituted C3-C20hydrocarbon radicals; and d) at least one oil additive selected from the group consisting of polyol partial esters, amines and epoxides with the proviso that the composition is metal free.
