Claims
- 1. A lubrication system for vibratory apparatus, said system comprising a lubricant pump for pumping lubricant from a supply thereof to one or more points of lubrication of said apparatus, and a drive for said pump powered in response to the vibration of said apparatus.
- 2. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 1 wherein said pump is an expansible chamber pump having a movable pump member driven by said vibration-powered drive.
- 3. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 2 wherein said pump comprises a cylinder and said movable pump member comprises a plunger slidable in the cylinder, said vibration-powered drive acting to reciprocate the plunger in the cylinder.
- 4. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 1 wherein said vibration-powered drive comprises a weight oscillable in response to the vibration of said apparatus.
- 5. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 4 wherein said pump is an expansible chamber pump having a movable pump member driven by said vibration-powered drive.
- 6. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 5 wherein the weight is supported on a rotatable shaft element via a first one-way clutch.
- 7. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 6 further comprising a cam mounted on the shaft element, said movable pump member being engageable against a surface of the cam.
- 8. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 6 wherein the shaft element is rotatably supported on a second one-way clutch, the first and second one-way clutches preventing reverse rotation of the shaft element.
- 9. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 6 further comprising a stop for limiting a stroke of oscillation of the weight.
- 10. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 5 wherein said pump comprises a cylinder and said movable pump member comprises a plunger slidable in the cylinder, said vibration-powered drive acting to reciprocate the plunger in the cylinder.
- 11. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 10 wherein said vibration-powered drive comprises a mechanism driven by the weight for driving the plunger.
- 12. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 11 wherein said mechanism comprises a rotary ratchet, a first pawl driven by the weight for rotating the ratchet, a second pawl for holding the ratchet against retrograde rotation, a cam driven by the ratchet and engageable by the plunger for reciprocating the plunger.
- 13. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 4 wherein said vibration-powered drive comprises a mechanism driven by the weight for driving the pump.
- 14. A lubrication system for a hydraulic striking device, said device being vibratory in operation, said system comprising a base for attachment to said device for vibration therewith, a lubricant pump for pumping lubricant from a supply to one or more points of lubrication of said device, said pump comprising a cylinder and a plunger reciprocable in the cylinder through a stroke between a retracted position for intake of lubricant into the cylinder and a forward position for delivery of the intake from the cylinder, and a weight mounted on the base for oscillation in response to the vibration of said device when the base is attached to said device, oscillation of the weight effecting reciprocation of the plunger through a stroke.
- 15. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 14 having a rotary-to-linear drive on the base powered by the weight for reciprocating the plunger.
- 16. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 14 having the lubricant supply mounted on the base.
- 17. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 14 wherein said weight is supported on a rotatable shaft element via a first one-way clutch.
- 18. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 17 further comprising a cam mounted on the shaft element, said plunger being engageable against a surface of the cam.
- 19. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 18 wherein the shaft element is rotatably supported on a second one-way clutch, the first and second one-way clutches preventing reverse rotation of the shaft element.
- 20. A lubrication system as set forth in claim 19 further comprising a s top for limiting a stroke of oscillation of the weight.
