Claims
- 1. A mixed liquid crystal composition consisting essentially of a mixture of
- a. a solvent having the formula ##STR16## (b) a solvent selected from the group of compounds consisting of (1) 4,4'-bis(heptyloxy)azoxybenzene,
- (2) 4,4'-bis(pentyloxy)azoxybenzene,
- (3) 4,4'-bis(hexyloxy)azoxybenzene,
- (4) 4,4'-dibutoxyazoxybenzene, and
- (5) 4,4'-dipropoxyazoxybenzene.
- 2. A mixed liquid crystal composition as set forth in claim 1, wherein said solute is 4,4'-bis(heptyloxy)azoxybenzene.
- 3. A mixed liquid crystal composition as set forth in claim 1, wherein said solute is 4,4'-bis(pentyloxy)azoxybenzene.
- 4. A mixed liquid crystal composition as set forth in claim 1, wherein said solute is 4,4'-bis(hexyloxy) azoxybenzene.
- 5. A mixed liquid crystal composition as set forth in claim 1, wherein said solute is 4,4'-dibutoxyazoxybenzene.
- 6. A mixed liquid crystal composition as set forth in claim 1, wherein said solute is 4,4'-dipropoxyazoxybensene.
