Abstract
During the treatment of the travelling ribbons the guide rollers become dirtied, in particular during dyeing operations, making it necessary to clean the guide rollers, for example during a dye changeover.
Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The invention relates to a machine for treating, steaming, dyeing, finishing, washing, etc., at least one revolving ribbon, preferably a textile ribbon, comprising a treatment compartment in which at least two guide rollers spaced apart from one another are arranged for rotation, and over which the ribbon is revolved.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] These guide rollers become dirtied by the revolving ribbons during treatment. In particular when dyeing ribbons, it is necessary to clean the guide rollers prior to a dye changeover.

[0005] This cleaning of the guide rollers is very time-consuming and also very expensive because the production process is stopped during cleaning.

[0006] Accordingly it is the object of this invention to propose a machine of the type mentioned in the introduction that enables, say, a dye change to take place in the shortest possible time without the need for cleaning beforehand.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] This object is achieved by arranging the guide rollers so that they can be displaced in the axial direction and locked in the treatment compartment.

[0008] The fact that they are displaceable and lockable enables the guide rollers to be moved far enough for the ribbon that is being treated to run over a clean section of the guide rollers.

[0009] Advantageously the guide rollers are adapted to be pushed out of the treatment compartment.

[0010] In the case of one practical machine for treating, steaming, dyeing, finishing, washing, etc., at least one revolving ribbon, preferably a textile ribbon, comprising a treatment compartment in which at least two guide rollers spaced apart from one another are arranged for rotation, and over which the ribbon is revolved, it is an advantage for the treatment compartment to be displaceable and lockable relative to the guide rollers in the axial direction of said guide rollers.

[0011] In the case of another embodiment of a machine for treating, steaming, dyeing, finishing, washing, etc., at least one revolving ribbon, preferably a textile ribbon, comprising a treatment compartment in which at least two guide rollers spaced apart from one another are arranged for rotation, and over which the ribbon is revolved, at least one ribbon guide system is arranged in the treatment compartment so as to be displaceable and lockable in the axial direction of the guide rollers.

[0012] A controllable, dual-action pressure cylinder is preferably provided for the displacement.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0013] The invention is illustrated by way of examples in the drawings, wherein:

[0014]
FIGS. 1 and 2 show a machine with displaceable guide rollers;

[0015]
FIGS. 3 and 4 show a machine with a displaceable treatment compartment; and

[0016]
FIGS. 5 and 6 show a machine with a displaceable ribbon guide system.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0017]
FIGS. 1 and 2 depict guide rollers 2 arranged spaced apart from one another at the top and bottom of a treatment compartment 1. A ribbon 3 intended for treatment is revolved over the guide rollers 2, which are either free-running or are driven.

[0018] As FIGS. 1 and 2 show, the guide rollers 2 rest on shafts 4 which are held in a bracket 5 on the treatment compartment 1.

[0019] With the help of dual-action pressure cylinders 6 whose connecting rods 7 are joined to the guide rollers 2, the guide rollers can be pushed out of the position represented in FIG. 1, in the direction identified by the arrows 8, and into the position represented in FIG. 2, with the result that the ribbon runs over clean sections of the guide rollers 2. As FIG. 2 shows, the guide rollers 2 may be moved back in the arrowed direction 9 into the position represented in FIG. 1.

[0020] Because sections of the guide rollers 2 are in each case situated outside the treatment compartment 2, these sections can be cleaned during the production process, which means that by suitably displacing the guide rollers 2 there are always clean sections of the guide rollers available.

[0021] In the embodiment of the machine according to the invention as seen in FIGS. 3 and 4, the treatment compartment 1 is displaceably arranged on the brackets 5, in which the guide rollers 2 are mounted for rotation on the shafts 4.

[0022] The connecting rods 7 of the pressure cylinders 6 are joined to the brackets 5, thereby enabling the treatment compartment 1 to be pushed out of the position represented in FIG. 3, in the arrowed direction 10 and into the position represented in FIG. 4, where it can be locked in place. The treatment compartment 1 can be moved, in the arrowed direction 11, out of the position represented in FIG. 4 and back into the position represented in FIG. 3.

[0023] Likewise in the case of this embodiment those sections of the guide rollers 2 that lie outside the treatment compartment 1 can be cleaned during operation, with the result that there are always clean sections of the guide rollers available.

[0024] In the case of the embodiment of a machine according to the invention as depicted in FIGS. 5 and 6, a ribbon guide system 12 is arranged in the treatment compartment 1 so as to move to and fro in the arrowed direction 13 into the positions represented in FIGS. 5 and 6, in the axial direction of the guide rollers 2. The ribbon guide system 12 is in each case displaced by an amount corresponding to the distance between the revolving ribbon 3. If longer guide rollers 2 are provided, displacement of the ribbon guide system 12 can also take place across a bigger range.

[0025] Likewise in the case of the embodiments seen in FIGS. 1 to 4 there may be provision for displaceability by one ribbon's width in each case, thereby making possible displacement in several steps in order for clean sections of the guide rollers 2 to always be available.

[0026] The embodiment of the machine seen in FIGS. 5 and 6 has particular applications with closed treatment compartments 1 in which hot air or hot steam or other media are used for treating the ribbons 3.
