- 5. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, wherein each outlet of the at least one pair of outlets is connected respectively to at least one corresponding workstation of the workstations of the machine tool.
- 6. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, wherein the controller has a local user interface for local interaction with the controller.
- 7. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, wherein the controller is connected to a remote user interface for remote electronic interaction with the controller.
- 8. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, wherein the pump is a positive displacement pump.
- 9. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, further comprising a fluid supply section connected to a suction end of the pump.
- 10. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 9, wherein the fluid supply section is connected to a fluid supply of the machine tool.
- 11. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 9, wherein the fluid supply section draws fluid to the apparatus from a fluid reservoir of the machine tool.
- 12. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 11, wherein the fluid supply section is connected to another fluid reservoir different from the fluid reservoir of the machine tool, and draws fluid from the other reservoir to the apparatus.
- 13. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, further comprising a fluid filter connected to the housing, the fluid filter having a removable filter bag.
- 14. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 13, wherein the fluid filter has a dirty filter indicator.
- 15. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, wherein the machine tool is at least one of a single turret lathe, a twin turret lathe, a gang tool lathe, or a multiple spindle screw machine.
- 16. A machines tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, wherein the controller is programmed to stop fluid delivered by the apparatus to at least one workstation of the machine tool when a turret of the machine tool is indexed.
- 17. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 1, wherein the controller is programmed to regulate fluid pressure at each outlet independently.
- 18. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus comprising:
a frame; a pump mounted to the frame, the pump being adapted for providing, from a discharge end of the pump, fluid at a higher pressure than a fluid pressure available in a machine tool; a fluid distribution system connected to the discharge end of the booster pump for distributing fluid from the pump to workstations on the machine tool, the fluid distribution system comprising a manifold section with a multi-port output mounted to the frame for distributing fluid to the workstations; and a controller mounted to the frame, the controller being controllably connected to the fluid distribution system for controlling the fluid distribution system; wherein, the controller is programmed to use machine tool commands for controlling fluid delivered through the multi-port output of the fluid distribution system to at least one of the workstations independently from fluid delivered through the multi-port output to another one of the workstations of the machine tool.
- 19. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 18, wherein the multi-port output has at least four output ports.
- 20. A machine tool fluid distribution apparatus in accordance with claim 18, wherein the controller is programmed to regulate fluid pressure independently at each output port of the multi-port output.
- 21. A method for delivering high pressure fluid to workstations of a machine tool comprising the steps of:
providing a fluid distribution apparatus comprising a pump for boosting fluid pressure higher than fluid pressure available in the machine tool, a fluid distribution system connected the pump, and a controller for controlling the fluid distribution apparatus; connecting the fluid distribution system to the machine tool for delivering high pressure fluid from the pump to the workstations of the machine tool; and connecting the controller to the machine tool for receiving machine tool commands from the machine tool, the controller being programmed for using machine tool commands for controlling the fluid distribution apparatus to deliver high pressure fluid to at least one of the work stations independent from fluid delivered by the apparatus to another one of the work stations.
- 22. A method as in claim 21, further comprising the step of, with the controller, automatically redirecting fluid distribution of the apparatus without user interaction from a first one of the work stations to a second one of the work stations of the machine tool.
- 23. A method as in claim 21, further comprising the step of connecting a supply section of the fluid distribution apparatus to a fluid reservoir of the machine tool to supply fluid to the fluid distribution apparatus.
