Claims
- 1. A hydrogen storage material consisting essentially of a mechanical alloy of from 75 to 95 atomic percent magnesium and the remainder consisting essentially of iron and titanium,
- said hydrogen storage material having been made by mechanical alloying.
- 2. The hydrogen storage material of claim 1, wherein said mechanical alloy comprises a multi-phase material.
- 3. The hydrogen storage material of claim 2, wherein said iron comprises from 5 to 15 at. % of the mechanical alloy.
- 4. The hydrogen storage material of claim 2, wherein said titanium comprises from 5 to 15 at. % of the mechanical alloy.
- 5. The hydrogen storage material of claim 1, wherein said mechanical alloy includes at least one amorphous phase.
- 6. The hydrogen storage material of claim 5, wherein said iron comprises from 5 to 15 at. % of the mechanical alloy.
- 7. The hydrogen storage material of claim 5, wherein said titanium comprises from 5 to 15 at. % of the mechanical alloy.
- 8. The hydrogen storage material of claim 1, wherein said iron comprises from 5 to 15 at. % of the mechanical alloy.
- 9. The hydrogen storage material of claim 1, wherein said titanium comprises from 5 to 15 at. % of the mechanical alloy.
