In certain prior art game apparatus, magnetic attraction has been utilized to effect the movement of playing pieces upon the surface of a game board. Prior art of this type of game does not have a method incorporating playing a magnetic game incorporating a digital game clock timer, two point conversion using a rigid box with hole with rigid flat football with notched groove with rubber band as a scoring object, field goal kick using a rigid flat football with a detachable field goal powered by human finger(s) flicking said rigid football to detachable field goal as scoring object, and option to wager the outcome of the game using points spread system.
Present invention board game simulates closest to the real game of football incorporating most of the rules of the real life football into said game board. Being able to have to the option to place bets and wage with point spread system, track fumbled and interception, keep track of game scores, and options to wage on winner's prize of having the loser buying food, monetary compensation, or bragging rights is what makes this game exciting. Incorporating a game clock timer, defense play clock/time out timer, and offense play timer along with players playing under the pressure of the game clock makes the game nerve wracking for the players and players will be more susceptible to make mistakes on either creating barriers or maneuvering through barriers while playing the game using decorated magnets. Present invention has three ways to score, a touchdown, field goal kick, and two point conversions are just like the real game of football in a form of method of play.
It is a principle object of the present invention therefore to provide a new football board game simulating of the like of real football game in method and playing the same.
Another object of the present invention is to provide players playing using their physical abilities handling the decorated magnet playing pieces whereas players abilities may be compromised under the pressure of the digital clock timers. Other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the subsequent description and the appended claims taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
It has now been found that the foregoing and related objects of the present invention can readily be attained in a game apparatus including a game board having a relatively thin smooth surface thereof defining playing area fabricated with laminated plastic sheet of film at least on upper surface of playing area allowing the decorated magnets to glide without friction across the surface playing area. Parallel to said center surface playing area are long strips of magnetic strips with affixed positions where time outs and number of downs tracker are located. On top of the magnetic strip are placed with two sets of numeric numbering magnet pieces one set for each player from one to three for number of time outs and individual numbering magnet pieces from one to four for tracking number of downs takes place during a game play by turning over each number of said number magnets on either down takes place or time out takes place. The other parallel strip without designated markings is for the down markers to freely be placed and mark where a game play down takes place by placing a magnetic bottom portion of the down marker accordingly to the outcome of each tackle taking place during a play. Coin toss rigid coin is decorated on upper surface marked with artwork of heads and artwork of bottom surface tails for players to decide which player takes role of offensive player and other as defensive player. Plurality of digital time clocks are positioned parallel across from both players surface playing area with option of battery power or wall outlet power and a synch able cable from one digital clock timer to another mirroring one another giving players the capability to interact each other during a real time play. In addition, a plurality of decorated magnet player pieces are provided for defensive and offensive player where defensive player uses multiple decorated magnet pieces in the play whereas the offensive player has plurality of alternative decorated offensive magnets but only one is used at a time during a play; whereas plurality of decorated defensive magnets are supported by a rigid tray or support in present invention playing decorated magnets are place on top of the elongated semi circle channel inner base of magnet holder having a flat bottom base for stability on any surface playing area. Systematic way of score keeping whereas a erasable or non erasable score keeping object having multiple options of tracking just than scores, as it comprise of allowing players to have the option to make point spread wagers giving each player the prediction of winning outcome labeling players as either favorite or underdog; players or observers of the game may at choice make point spreads writing on the score card spread prediction section filling in with points in positive or negative format for each player. Score card may also keep track of scores, number of turnover by number of fumbled or interceptions when dice is rolled, and also has waging winning prizes where players or observers of the game can mark what rewards they would like to redeem by winning the prediction by choice. Twelve sided dice where ten surfaces of said dice sides are marked with the word “play” and eleventh side of dice marked with the word “fumbled” and twelfth side marked with the word “interception” which both are considered turnovers and lose a turn; present dice marking invention is to simulate the realistic odds of getting a play as oppose to a turnover like fumbled or interception whereas they have ten out of twelve chances in rolling a play as oppose to a turnover.
Most desirably, the apparatus also includes three scoring types of game pieces whereas offensive decorated magnets to be maneuvered by human finger or plurality of fingers into end zone, two point conversion box in which a target box with hole equip with a rigid decorated football having elongated notch groove to support a rubber band whereas a player would use it as a human hand sling shot ammo shooting the said rigid notched football into the target hole of box to score two points, and field goal kick where a rigid or plastic detachable field goal with detachable base with detachable curvature arm supporting said field goal U shaped target scoring area when a decorated rigid football is propelled by player's finger(s) flicking the said rigid football with football placed on playing surface area held down by one finger(s) and other finger flicking the said football propelling it between the said field goal post to score either one or three points; the top of field goal post has a built in fabric flag for purpose of detecting where the directional wind is coming from when players have option to place a household fan towards the field goal as player flicks the said decorated rigid football towards the field goal post simulating bad weather situations to compromise player's flicking abilities; in addition defensive player has option to use the apparatus present invention a mesh net with two handles as faceguard to observe a propelled rigid flat decorated football toward the field goal post without defensive player being injured as defensive player watches the flying rigid football being propelled towards the face of the defensive player; whereas defensive player can observe if football kick by offensive player is good or not.
In addition, the apparatus also includes a rigid measuring gauge object to detect defensive players decorated magnets barriers detecting if magnets are at least one magnet apart per each gap between each decorated magnets placed as barriers; magnet gap checker prevents player from cheating creating an unrealistic plays if decorated magnets are placed too close for the offensive decorated magnets to maneuver through defensive magnets barriers being too close.
Apparatus also includes an ornamental plastic figurines of football referees with base positioned on each end of players end zone simulating the referees calling out touchdowns as players scores.
In playing the game, the steps employed may comprise setting up the board game properly ready for game starting with the thin rectangular board and game pieces set into place like, magnetic numeric numbering pieces from one to three positioned upright where the numbers are showing in the time out positions, whereas magnetic numeric numbering pieces from one to four positioned upright where the numbers are showing in the downs position located on the magnetic strip on said upper surface of playing area. Then digital timer clocks are powered with either batteries or power cord with cable marrying the pair of clocks by a synch able cable positioned one on each end of said digital clocks where two sets of clocks will mirror one another for interactive activities. The plastic down marker will be positioned anywhere along the down marker magnetic strip ready to mark the placement of downs when a down takes place. The plastic figurine referees with base will be positioned on opposite sides of each end zone of the players. The plastic magnet tray holder will carry the load of the plurality of decorated magnet pieces for the defensive player. The dice, detachable field goal post with rigid flat football, two point conversion box with rigid elongated notched flat football with rubber band, faceguard mesh net, coin toss coin, and score card tracker will be put to the side of the said game board playing area. Once both players have the game set up, players are to set the game clock timer, defense clock timer, and offense clock timer for play. Followed by with the option to fill in the wager predicting which player is the favorite or the underdog creating plus or minus point spread, followed by making a wager as to the winning prize by marking or circling the prize of the winning wager. Either player can flip the coin toss calling out heads or tails as the winner of the call gets to be either the offense or defense player first. Either player can then press the start button to start running down the clock followed by the offensive player pressing the start button running down the defensive/time out button to start the defensive player to create as many barriers with the decorated defensive magnets behind the ten yard line creating as many as possible under the pressure of the game clock making sure that each piece of defensive decorated magnets are at least one magnet apart from each other or the barrier may be disqualified. When the defensive clock runs down to zero and digital clock alerts goes off, any remaining defensive decorated magnets may not be used for that game play, followed by the offensive player then scopes out the defensive decorated magnets barriers gaps to see if there are any visible disqualified pieces that may be too close to each other by using the magnet gap checker. Once the magnet gap checker is completed the defensive player will then start the offensive clock timer whereas the offensive player is timed under the clock to maneuver the offensive decorated magnet with finger or fingers pressed down on top of said decorated magnet without letting go guiding the said magnet avoiding any barrier decorated magnets from attracting to the offensive decorated magnet; if offensive player lifts finger or fingers off the said decorated offensive magnet, offensive player will then be penalized as an automatic down. If the defensive decorated magnets attracts to the offensive decorated magnet, it's then a tackle or down. The defensive player then would use the down marker to place it along the magnetic strip on surface of board game aligning it parallel to where the down takes place followed by turning over the numbering down magnets one number at a time per each down. Offensive player is then required to roll the twelve sided dice to determine if player continues play or rolls a fumbled or interception in which player will then lose a turn giving up the position of offensive player result in then becoming the defensive player.
In a game case scenario where offensive player may roll a play without dice landing on turnovers, game case scenario where fourth down takes place and offensive player can either punt the ball back to the defensive player which means offensive player giving up the last chance for a touchdown becoming the defensive player whereas the defensive player then becomes the offensive player; or offensive player can take the last fifth attempt and go for it attempting to score a touchdown, should the offensive player fails to score a touchdown on the fifth play, then defensive player gets to start from where the offensive player last fifth down took place without having to start from behind the ten yard line as a new play.
Another game case scenario, whereas offensive player is on a fourth down and does not want to try to score a touchdown taking the risk of not being able to, offensive player then have the option to do a field goal kick positioning the detachable field goal post on the opposite side of the end zone where offensive player will use the game piece decorated rigid flat football placing it down pressing firmly on other side of end zone of the surface of board with one finger(s) or has the option to hold it in mid air in a pinching form with one hand, with the other finger offensive player is to flick the said rigid decorated football with the finger propelling the football into between the field goal post yielding three points.
Another game case scenario, whereas should the game be tied by the end of fourth quarter, to break the tie, there would be another quarter added to the game however which ever player score by either a touchdown or field goal kick will win the game.
Another game scenario whereas offensive player is down by seven points towards the near end of the fourth quarter, in order to win the game scoring a touchdown and a field goal kick will only yield a total of seven points which makes it a tie game result in having to play another quarter to break the tie, offensive player has the option to score a touchdown scoring six points and instead of a field goal kick only scoring additional one point making it a tie game, offensive player can do a two point conversion by placing the two point conversion box at the end zone and from the fifty yard line using the rubber band strapping on players fingers, with the decorated elongated notched rigid football strapped to the rubber band to aim at the hole of the two point conversion box, getting the decorated rigid football into the hole of the two point conversion box will score two points making it a total of eight points winning the game by one point.
Another game play scenario, when offensive player is kicking a field goal from one end zone to the other end zone where the detachable field goal post is positioned, the defensive player can observe the field goal kick standing directly behind the field goal post but holding a mesh net with handles faceguard to watch a live action kick of the offensive player flicking the said decorated rigid flat football toward the defensive player's face as mesh net with handle will shield the defensive player's face as defensive player gets to see if the field goal kick is good or no good. As an option players can use a household fan blowing towards the game board creating a wind barrier trying to make the field goal kick difficult for the offensive player. The fabric flag on top of the field goal post is to detect which directions of the wind is coming from of the said household fan as the flags will sway in accordance to the wind blowing direction on said board game during a field goal kick.
The total game consist of four quarters with exceptions of the fifth quarter should it be a tie. Offensive and defensive player are to utilize the defensive and offensive timer going back and forth repetitiously followed by all game rules trying to score as many points as possible. The game is divided into two halves meaning first half of the game has a total of three time outs and second half has three time outs whereas if players don't use all three time outs in the first half will not be carried into the second half of the game and will lose it. When time out is taken, players are to flip over the numeric magnetic numbering time outs to track the number of time outs taken by each player.
The foregoing objects and others will be pointed out more fully hereinafter in conjunction with the description of the preferred embodiment of the present invention illustrated in the accompanying drawings and examples and in which:
Turned now in detail to the appended drawings, therein illustrated in a football game apparatus embodying the present invention and including a game board,
