Abstract
A magnetic attraction type iron golf club rack includes a rack body fastened to a golf bag and having multiple locating blocks and locating grooves alternatively arranged in series at a top side of an elongated base portion thereof, each locating block defining a support wall for supporting the head of one respective golf iron in one locating groove, magnets respectively mounted in the locating blocks for attracting the head of the respective golf iron.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to golf bags, and more particularly to a magnetic attraction type golf iron rack for golf bag, which secures storage golf irons positively in the golf bag, avoiding golf iron collision during movement of the golf bag.

2. Description of the Related Art

A golfer typically transports golf clubs in a golf bag. The golf bag must be moved with the user. If the golf clubs and golf irons in a golf bag are not positively secured in separated spaces, they can collide with one another, causing damage. To avoid this problem, a golf bag may be equipped with a specially designed golf club rack. The golf club rack can hold the shafts of the golf clubs and golf irons in the golf bag, avoiding golf club collision during movement of the golf bag. U.S. Pat. No. 6,464,076 discloses a similar design, entitled “Golf club positioning bottom rack for golf bag”. This design of golf club bottom positioning rack is made of foam material and fastened to the inside of the bottom cuff of a golf bag and adapted to hold golf clubs in the golf bag. However, because the club head is the heaviest part of a golf club, the club heads of the storage golf clubs in the golf bag can still be forced to collide with one another during movement of the golf bag.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore the main object of the present invention to provide a magnetic attraction type golf iron rack for golf bag, which secures storage golf irons positively in the golf bag by means of magnetic attraction, avoiding golf iron collision during movement of the golf bag.

To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a magnetic attraction type iron golf club rack comprises a rack body fastened to a golf bag and having multiple locating blocks and locating grooves alternatively arranged in series at the top side of an elongated base portion thereof, and a magnet mounted in each locating block for securing the head of a golf iron by magnetic attraction. Further, each locating block defines a support wall for supporting the head of one respective golf iron in one locating groove.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a magnetic attraction type golf iron rack for golf bag in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a schematic applied view of the first embodiment of the present invention (I).

FIG. 3 is a schematic applied view of the first embodiment of the present invention (II).

FIG. 4 is an elevational view of a magnetic attraction type golf iron rack for golf bag in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a magnetic attraction type golf iron rack for golf bag in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention is shown. The magnetic attraction type golf iron rack comprises a rack body 1, two connection members 2 respectively located at two opposite ends of the rack body 1 and fastened to a golf bag 6, and a plurality of magnets 4 mounted in the rack body 1 for securing golf irons 5 by magnetic attraction. The rack body 1 defines an elongated base portion 12, a plurality of locating blocks 11 raised from the top wall of the elongated base portion 12 and arranged in series, and a plurality of locating grooves 3 respectively defined between each two adjacent ones of the locating blocks 11. The magnets 4 are respectively embedded in the locating blocks 11 by insert molding. Each locating block 11 comprises a support wall 111 upwardly obliquely disposed at one side thereof and facing toward one respective locating groove 3. The support walls 111 of the locating blocks 11 are respectively disposed at one same side and have different surface areas.

Referring to FIG. 3 and FIGS. 1 and 2 again, when a golf iron 5 is put in the golf bag 6, the head 51 of the golf iron 5 can be inserted into one locating groove 3 of the rack body 1 and rested on the support wall 111 of one adjacent locating block 11. At this time, the magnet 4 in the respective locating block 11 attracts the head 51 of the rested golf iron 5, securing the golf iron 5 positively in position. Because the support walls 111 of the locating blocks 11 have different surface areas, the locating blocks 11 can positively support a typical set of golf irons 5, avoiding golf iron collision during movement of the golf bag 6.

Referring to FIG. 4, a magnetic attraction type golf iron rack for golf bag in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention is shown. This second embodiment is substantially similar to the aforesaid first embodiment with the exception that each locating block 11 of the rack body 1 in accordance with this second embodiment defines therein a mounting slot 112 for accommodating one respective magnet 4.

In conclusion, the invention provides a magnetic attraction type golf iron rack for golf bag, which comprises a rack body 1 defining a series of locating blocks 11 and a locating groove 3 between each two adjacent locating blocks 11, and a magnet 4 mounted in each locating block 11 for attracting the head 51 of each storage golf iron 5 that is inserted into one locating groove 3 and rested on a support wall 111 of one respective locating block 11. Thus, the golf irons 5 put in the golf bag 6 can be kept in a separated manner positively, avoiding golf iron collision during movement of the golf bag 6.
