Claims
- 1. A magnetic-drive device for rotary machinery comprising:
- a driving motor and a rotatable motor driven by a magnetic coupling means including a driving magnet fixed on a magnetic holder connected with said driving motor and a driven impeller magnet fixed on a rotor of said rotatable motor, said driving magnet and the driven impeller magnet being combined with each other; and
- a chamber accomodating said rotatable motor and having a cylindrical partition defining the periphery of the chamber, said partition having a thickness of 1.5-8 mm and comprising a ceramic material having zirconia as a main ingredient, containing 1-5%, based on the weight of the main ingredient, of alumina (Al.sub.2 O.sub.3), silica (SiO.sub.2) and an alkaline metal oxide, and having a specific resistance of at least 10.sup.7.OMEGA. -cm, through which partition the driving magnet and the driven impeller magnet are magnetically coupled.
- 2. A device as claimed in claim 1 wherein the main ingredient is a zirconia partially stabilized with 2.0-4.0 mole % of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3.
- 3. A device as claimed in claim 2 wherein the main ingredient is a zirconia partially stabilized with 2.3-3.5 mole % of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3.
