Claims
- 1. A magnetic-head supporting mechanism comprising a slider including a magnetic head that writes and reproduces data to and from a magnetic disc and that has a floating surface floating above the surface of said magnetic disc; a mounting portion on which said slider is mounted; a horizontal frame connected to one end of said mounting portion; two flexible finger portions extending from the respective ends of said horizontal frame to the respective sides of said mounting portion; a joint portion connected to other ends of said flexible finger portions and joined with one end of a beam portion; a spring portion having one end connected to the other end of said beam portion; and an arm mounting portion connected to the other end of the spring portion, wherein:said slider and said beam portion are joined together by using an elastic member having at least one loop-like flexed portion arranged in a region of a gap between facing sides of said mounting portion and said beam portion and which is not very rigid and has a high tensile strength in order to provide predetermined flex.
- 2. A magnetic-head supporting mechanism according to claim 1 wherein said elastic member is a FPC that transmits signals between the magnetic head and a control section.
- 3. A magnetic-head supporting mechanism according to claim 1, wherein said beam portion includes a sheet of metal plate.
- 4. A magnetic-head supporting mechanism according to claim 1, wherein said elastic member includes two loop-like flexed portions extending in opposite directions.
- 5. A magnetic-head supporting mechanism according to claim 1, wherein said elastic member limits rotational movement of said slider.
- 6. A magnetic-head supporting mechanism according to claim 1, wherein said at least one loop-like flexed portion of said elastic member limits rotational movement of said slider.
