Claims
- 1. A perpendicular recording medium that can be installed in a hard magnetic disk drive, comprising:
a perpendicular magnetization film having a perpendicular magnetic anisotropy energy and; an in-plane magnetization film having a longitudinal magnetic anisotropy energy provided on said perpendicular magnetization film, wherein a thickness of said in-plane magnetization film is less than a thickness of said perpendicular magnetization film, wherein, the thickness of said in-plane magnetization film is within a range of 2 nm to 10 nm, and further wherein, a total thickness of said first perpendicular magnetization film and said in-plane magnetization film is within a range of 7 nm to 100 nm.
- 2. The perpendicular recording medium that can be installed in a hard magnetic disk drive according to claim 1, wherein said in-plane magnetization film comprises Co, Ni, Fe, CoNi or CoNiCr.
- 3. The perpendicular recording medium that can be installed in a hard magnetic disk drive according to claim 1, further comprising a protective layer formed on the perpendicular magnetization film.
