Claims
- 1. A graphical user interface for using a computer to manage customer loss, the interface comprising:
an overview display for customer churn information associated with a period of time, the customer churn information including an attribute and multiple values for the attribute, each value being associated with a particular point within the period of time for which the customer churn information is being displayed; and a customer profile display for customer information associated with each of several groups of customers for which customer churn information is displayed in the overview display.
- 2. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the overview display comprises an overview window wherein the display position of the overview window on a display device is controllable by a user.
- 3. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the overview display comprises an overview pane wherein the display position of the overview pane on a display device is fixed.
- 4. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the customer profile display comprises a customer profile window wherein the display position of the customer profile window on a display device is controllable by a user.
- 5. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the customer profile display comprises a customer profile pane wherein the display position of the customer profile pane on a display device is fixed.
- 6. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the attribute comprises a rate of customer churn for all customers of a business enterprise.
- 7. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the attribute comprises an aggregated likelihood-to-churn based on a likelihood-to-churn for individual customers of a business enterprise.
- 8. The graphical user interface of claim 7 wherein the aggregated attribute comprises an aggregated likelihood-to-churn attribute based on the likelihood-to-churn for important customers of a business enterprise.
- 9. The graphical user interface of claim 8 wherein importance of a customer is based on a profitability value that represents the contribution of the customer to the business enterprise.
- 10. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the attribute comprises an estimate of lost profits due to lost customers.
- 11. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the customer profile information includes a likelihood-to-churn value for each customer group, the likelihood-to-churn value representing an average likelihood-to-churn for all customers included in the customer group.
- 12. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the customer profile information includes a customer value attribute for each customer group, the customer value attribute representing an average customer value for all customers included in the customer group.
- 13. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the customer profile information includes a customer satisfaction attribute for each customer group, the customer satisfaction attribute representing an average satisfaction value for all customers included in the customer group.
- 14. The graphical user interface of claim 1 wherein the customer profile information includes a customer loyalty attribute for each customer group, the customer loyalty attribute representing an estimate of customer loyalty for all customers included in the customer group.
- 15. A computer-readable medium or propagated signal having embodied thereon a computer program configured to display a graphical user interface for managing customer loss, the medium or signal comprising one or more code segments configured to display:
an overview display for customer churn information associated with a period of time, the customer churn information including an attribute and multiple values for the attribute, each value being associated with a particular point within the period of time for which the customer churn information is being displayed; and a customer profile display for customer information associated with each of several groups of customers for which customer churn information is displayed in the overview display.
- 16. The medium or signal of claim 15 wherein the attribute comprises a rate of customer churn for all customers of a business enterprise.
- 17. The medium or signal of claim 15 wherein the attribute comprises an aggregated likelihood-to-churn based on a likelihood-to-churn for individual customers of a business enterprise.
- 18. The medium or signal of claim 17 wherein the aggregated attribute comprises an aggregated likelihood-to-churn attribute based on the likelihood-to-churn for important customers of a business enterprise.
- 19. The medium or signal of claim 15 wherein the customer profile information includes a likelihood-to-churn value for each customer group, the likelihood-to-churn value representing an average likelihood-to-churn for all customers included in the customer group.
- 20. The medium or signal of claim 15 wherein the customer profile information includes a customer value attribute for each customer group, the customer value attribute representing an average customer value for all customers included in the customer group.
- 21. A system for displaying a graphical user interface for managing customer loss, the system comprising a processor connected to a storage device and one or more input/output devices, wherein the processor is configured to display:
an overview display for customer churn information associated with a period of time, the customer churn information including an attribute and multiple values for the attribute, each value being associated with a particular point within the period of time for which the customer churn information is being displayed; and a customer profile display for customer information associated with each of several groups of customers for which customer churn information is displayed in the overview display.
- 22. The system of claim 21 wherein the attribute comprises a rate of customer churn for all customers of a business enterprise.
- 23. The system of claim 21 wherein the attribute comprises an aggregated likelihood-to-churn based on a likelihood-to-churn for individual customers of a business enterprise.
- 24. The system of claim 23 wherein the aggregated attribute comprises an aggregated likelihood-to-churn attribute based on the likelihood-to-churn for important customers of a business enterprise.
- 25. The system of claim 21 wherein the customer profile information includes a likelihood-to-churn value for each customer group, the likelihood-to-churn value representing an average likelihood-to-churn for all customers included in the customer group.
- 26. The system of claim 21 wherein the customer profile information includes a customer value attribute for each customer group, the customer value attribute representing an average customer value for all customers included in the customer group.
