Claims
- 1. For use in forming composite layered parts, a mandrel comprising:
- a multiple number of substantially equivalent peripheral panels;
- the panels being juxtaposed and reversed to have wide and narrow axially spaced ends alternately arranged peripherally around the mandrel.
- 2. The invention according to claim 1 in which:
- said panels are of even number and substantially identical.
- 3. The invention according to claim 2 in which:
- said mandrel is substantially cylindrical.
- 4. The invention according to claim 1 including:
- a shaft extending from each end of the mandrel on which the mandrel is adapted to be rotated.
- 5. The invention according to claim 4 including:
- generally transverse end portions extending generally radially from the shaft to the panels at each end of the mandrel to receive polar windings of material wound on the mandrel from one end to the other end and returned the length of the mandrel.
- 6. The invention according to claim 3 in which:
- said mandrel has circumferential distances that are constant along the length of the panels.
