- 13. A method as recited in claim 12, wherein the act of stretching the resilient netting comprises radially stretching a netting tube over the pair of spaced upright supports.
- 14. A method as recited in claim 12, wherein the act of stretching the resilient netting consists of radially stretching a single integral netting tube over the pair of spaced upright supports such that the resulting bath ruffle or sponge consists of the single integral netting tube.
- 15. A method as recited in claim 12, wherein the act of stretching the resilient mesh netting comprises the netting being made from an extruded polymeric material.
- 16. A method as recited in claim 12, wherein the act of stretching the resilient netting consists of stretching resilient netting between a single pair of spaced upright supports such that the continuous band biases solely against the pair of spaced upright supports.
- 17. A method as recited in claim 12, further comprising the act of telescopically gathering the band on the supports.
- 18. A method as recited in claim 12, wherein the act of stretching the select portion includes stretching the select portion at an angle acute to a plane extending between the supports.
- 19. A method as recited in claim 12, wherein the act of stretching the select portions includes stretching at least some of the select portions in directions on opposite sides of a plane vertically extending between the supports.
- 20. A method for the manufacture of bath ruffles or sponges comprising:radially outwardly stretching a continuous band of polymeric netting such that the continuous band has opposing end portions and opposing central portions, the continuous band being formed from a pair of discrete gathered tubes of polymeric netting, one of the tubes being vertically disposed above the other when the continuous band is horizontally disposed; securing together the opposing central portions of the continuous band; and progressively stretching and releasing portions of the end portions of the continuous band so as to form a generally spherical bath ruffle or sponge.
