Claims
- 1. A feeding apparatus for sheet material member comprising:
- a first gripper device having a first fixed gripper and a first movable gripper for cooperating with each other in clamping and unclamping a material positioned therebetween;
- a slide block for reciprocal sliding motion along the feeding path of the material; and

- means for guiding movement of the material between the second and the first gripping device including a pair of fixed guide members disposed between said second fixed and movable grippers and defining a passage for the material member, each guide member being provided at its opposite ends seen in the direction of the material flow with first and second groups of teeth-like projections and with a gap formed between said first and second groups,
- a pair of grip members provided on said second gripper device with one grip member being secured to said second fixed gripper and the other grip member to said second movable gripper, each grip member having at its opposite ends projections which engage into recesses formed between the teeth-like projections of the associated guide member, and a stem portion which extends between said projections of grip member and is in engagement with said gap of the associated guide member; and
- wherein a dimension of said gap in the feeding direction of the sheet material is larger than the corresponding dimension of stem portion so that the grip members for feeding the sheet material can be reciprocated in the feeding direction within said guide members.
- 2. A feeding apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said fixed guide members are connected to a housing of said feeding apparatus.
- 3. A feeding apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said gap between said groups and said recesses between said teethlike projection penetrate entire thickness of said guide members.
- 4. A feeding apparatus according to claim 3, wherein each guide member includes a substantially rectangular frame with said groups of said teeth projections having one enc connected to said frame and extending inwardly inside said frame, said projections being dimensioned to form said gap between opposite free ends thereof.
- 5. A feeding apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising semi-cylindrical grooves formed in the lower surface of said first fixed gripper and upper surface of the first movable gripper, and in the surface of the second fixed gripper and in the upper surface of the second movable fixed gripper and in the upper surface of the second movable gripper to facilitate damping of a rot material maker therebetween.
- 6. A feeding apparatus according to claim 4, further comprising semi-cylindrical grooves formed in the lower surface of said first fixed gripper and upper surface of the first movable gripper, and in the surface of the second fixed gripper and in the upper surface of the second movable fixed gripper and in the upper surface of the second movable gripper to facilitate damping of a rot material maker therebetween.
- 7. A feeding apparatus for feeding a material comprising: a first gripper device having a first fixed gripper and a first movable gripper for cooperating with each other in clamping and unclamping a material positioned therebetween;
- a slide block for reciprocal sliding motion along the feeding path of the material; and
- a second gripper device disposed on said slide block opposite the first gripper device having a second fixed gripper and a second movable gripper for cooperating with each other in clamping and unclamping the material positioned therebetween;
- a detecting means mounted along said feeding path of the material between said first and second gripper devices for detecting deformation of the material; said detecting means including:
- a guide member having a bottom guiding surface movably supported above the surface of the material and at a distance therefrom;
- means for urging said guide member towards said material surface for maintaining substantially constant clearance between the material and said bottom surface of said guide member;
- an actuating means responsive to a change in said clearance due to the deformation of the material in said feeding path;
- an interrupting means responsive to a signal from said actuating means for interrupting feed of the material into said path.
- 8. A feeding device according to claim 7, further comprising a supporting means for movably supporting said guide member above said path, said supporting means including a supporting plate mounted on said first gripper device and a retaining member for clamping said guide member between said supporting plate and said retaining member.
- 9. A feeding device according to claim 8, wherein said guiding member is substantially L-shaped with a vertical portion disposed between said supporting plate and said retaining member and a horizontal portion defining said bottom guiding surface.
- 10. A feeding device according to claim 9, further including a restraining means provided on said vertical portion of said guide member cooperating with an upper wall of said retaining member for restraining movement of said guiding member while pressed downwardly by said urging means whereby maintaining said constant clearance between said guiding surface and said material.
- 11. A feeding apparatus according to claim 10, wherein said guiding member further comprises a tubular portion laterally projecting from a lower part of said vertical portion.
- 12. A feeding apparatus according to claim 11, wherein said urging means includes a spring provided in said retaining member for pressing contact with said tubular portion of said guiding member to urge said restraining member against said top wall of said retaining member.
- 13. A feeding apparatus according to claim 12, wherein said actuating means comprises a sensing means mounted on said retaining member, said sensing means being positioned substantially above said tubular portion, whereby a gap is formed between said sensing means and said tubular portion in a normal feeding condition and a limit switch responsive to closing of said gap between said sensing means and said tubular portion caused by deformation of the material for sending a signal to said interrupting means for interrupting feeding of the material into said path.
