Claims
- 1. An article of equipment, including a roll or bearing, intended to be submerged in molten zinc and low percentage aluminum/zinc melts, said article containing an alloy material comprised of carbon, chromium, nickel, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, niobium (columbium), cobalt, boron, iron, and zirconium, wherein vanadium is present in an amount sufficient to limit the γ-region.
- 2. An article intended to be submerged in molten zinc, aluminum, and aluminum/zinc melts, said article comprised of an alloy material having the following composition, in weight percentages:Percent1.6 < carbon < 2.615.0 < chromium < 300.0 ≦ nickel < 3010.0 < tungsten < 302.0 < molybdenum < 8.00.0 ≦ vanadium < 6.00.0 ≦ cobalt < 2010.0 < iron < 50.00.0 ≦ zirconium ≦ 6.0wherein vanadium is present in an amount sufficient to limit the γ-region.
- 3. An article intended to be submerged in molten zinc, aluminum, and aluminum/zinc melts, said article comprised of an alloy material having the following composition, in weight percentages:Percent0.0 ≦ nickel < 302.0 < molybdenum < 8.00.0 ≦ vanadium < 6.00.0 ≦ niobium < 6.00.0 ≦ cobalt < 200.0 ≦ boron < 5.010 < iron < 500.0 ≦ zirconium < 6.0wherein vanadium is present in an amount sufficient to limit the γ-region.
- 4. An article intended to be submerged in molten zinc, aluminum, and aluminum/zinc melts, said article comprised of an alloy material having the following composition, in weight percentages:Percent0.0 ≦ nickel < 300.0 ≦ vanadium < 6.00.0 ≦ cobalt < 200.0 ≦ boron < 5.00.0 < iron < 500.0 ≦ zirconium < 6.0wherein vanadium is present in an amount sufficient to limit the γ-region.
- 5. An article intended to be submerged in molten zinc aluminum, and aluminum/zinc melts, said article comprised of an alloy material having the following metals (in wt %) incorporated therein:between about 0-6% vanadium, between about 0-20% cobalt, between about 0-5% boron, between about 0-30% nickel, and between about 10 and 50% iron, wherein vanadium is present in an amount sufficient to limit the γ-region.
- 6. The article of claim 5 further comprising chromium in a range of between about 15-30 wt %.
- 7. The article of claim 5 further comprising molybdenum in a range of between about 2-8 wt %.
- 8. The article of claim 5 further comprising tungsten in a range of between about 10-30 wt %.
- 9. The article of claim 5 further comprising carbon in a range of between about 1.6-2.6 wt %.
- 10. The article of claim 5 further comprising carbon in a range of between about 1.6-2.6 wt %, chromium in a range of between about 15-30 wt %, tungsten in a range of between about 10-30 wt %, molybdenum in a range of between about 2.0-8.0 wt %, and zirconium in a range of between about 0.0-0.6 wt %.
- 11. The article of claim 5 further comprising molybdenum in a range of about 2.0-8.0 wt %, niobium in a range of about 0-6 wt %, and zirconium in a range of between 0-6 wt %.
- 12. A roll or bearing comprised of a steel allow material having the following metals, (in wt %) incorporated therein:between about 0-6 wt % vanadium, between about 0-20% cobalt, between about 0-5% boron, between about 0-30% nickel, and between about 10-50% iron, wherein vanadium is present in an amount sufficient to limit the γ-region.
- 13. The roll or bearing of claim 12 further comprising between about 15 and 30 wt % chromium.
- 14. The roll or bearing of claim 12 further comprising between about 2 and 8 wt % molybdenum.
- 15. The roll or bearing of claim 12 further comprising between about 10 and 30 wt % tungsten.
- 16. The roll or bearing of claim 12 further comprising between about 1.6 and 2.6 wt % carbon.
- 17. The roll or bearing of claim 12 further comprising between about 1.6 and 2.6 wt % carbon, between about 15.0 and 30 wt % chromium, between about 10 and 30 wt % tungsten, between about 2 and 8 wt % molybdenum, and between about 0 and 6 wt % zirconium.
- 18. The roll or bearing of claim 12 further comprising between about 2-8 wt % molybdenum, between about 0-6 wt % niobium, and between about 0-6 wt % zirconium.
