Abstract

A mattress core with storage capabilities including a mattress core, an open slot located in the side of the mattress core, and an inner supporting frame inside said open slot. A drawer can be placed inside the inner supporting frame of the opening slot. It further includes an outer cover wherein said outer cover further includes a top cover, a surrounding side cover, and said top cover and side cover enclose by a zipper or a plurality of snap buttons.

Description

INVENTION FIELD

The disclosure is generally related to a mattress core and more specifically to a mattress core with storage capabilities.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Modern family are moving towards smart home designs. The arrangement of furniture in home trends towards more concise designs with fewer pieces of furniture. Due to this decrease, the amount of available storage space decreased as well. The mattress lies between the human body and the bed. A good mattress ensures the user's healthy and comfortable sleep. A mattress usually consists of a mattress cover and a mattress core. The main function of a mattress cover is to fully cover mattress core, and to ensure the stability of the mattress core. There are a number of materials which can be used for mattress core. The criteria for picking the right mattress material is to meet consumer demands on permeability, decompression, support, bed surface tension, sleep, temperature and humidity etc. People generally sleep in the center of a mattress, placing greater pressure on the center of the mattress core while the edge of the mattress core gets less. As a result, adding additional functionality to the edge of the mattress can be attained without sacrificing the overall ability of the mattress to provide support against pressure. In order to improve the utilization of the mattress, and to add the function of storage, the edge portion of the mattress core can be improved.

SUMMARY

In order to overcome the deficiencies of current designs, the present disclosure provides a mattress core with storage capabilities. By including an open slot with an inner supporting frame into the mattress core, storage capabilities may be included with a mattress.

A preferred embodiment of the present inventions includes a mattress core, an open slot located in the side of the mattress core, an inner supporting frame located within the slot and shaped to fit in the open slot.

Another preferred embodiment the present inventions may include more than one open slots with similar storage capabilities.

The inner supporting frame is shaped to fit said open slot. A drawer can be placed inside of said inner supporting frame.

A handle can be attached on the outside of said drawer.

Another preferred embodiment further comprises an outer cover wherein said outer cover further includes a top cover, a surrounding side cover, and said top cover and side cover enclose by a zipper or a plurality of snap buttons.

The side cover of the mattress outer cover further includes an opening, said opening matches the location of the open slot inside the mattress, and said open slot can be shown by lifting a flip up cover flap configured to match the size of said open slot.

By adopting the present inventions, including an open slot with inner supporting frame into a mattress core, the present disclosure provides a mattress core with storage capabilities. This present disclosure expands the usability of a mattress core without hampering its supporting capabilities. This invention is practical and aesthetic, which has potential market prospects.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The following includes a detailed description of the invention. This invention is not limited to the following descriptions. The present disclosure of this invention is intended to include all potential modifications and changes within the scope of the invention.

The mattress core with storage capabilities in FIG. 1 includes a mattress core 1. An open slot 3 is located in the side of the mattress core. There could be more than one open slot 3 in this design. An inner supporting frame 2 is located within the slot and shaped to match the open slot. A drawer 5 is placed inside of said inner supporting frame. A handle 6 is attached on the outside of said drawer. An outer cover 10 is attached to said mattress core. The said outer cover includes a top cover 11 and a side cover 8. The top cover and side cover enclose by a zipper 9 or snap buttons. A cover flap 7 is attached to said side cover. The said open flap 4 is configured to cover said open slot 3.

To implement the current inventions of a mattress with storage capabilities, one first fixes an inner supporting frame 2 inside of open slot 3, and a drawer 5 is placed into inner supporting frame 2. One then opens the zipper 9 to detach the top cover 11 from side cover 8 and place the mattress core 1 into the side cover 8, then reattach the top cover 11 with the side cover 8 to form the outer cover 10. To open the storage spaces inside this mattress, the first step is to lift the cover flap 4 over the open slot 7, then open the drawer 5. After inserting or removing items, the drawer 5 need be closed. One can then put down the cover flap 4 over the open slot 7 to complete the process.

Although an exemplary embodiment of the system of the present inventions have been illustrated in the accompanied drawings and described in the foregoing detailed description, it will be understood that the inventions are not limited to the embodiments disclosed, but is capable of numerous rearrangements, modifications, and substitutions without departing from the spirit of the invention as set forth and defined by the following claims.

Claims

1. A mattress core with storage capabilities comprising: a mattress core;an open slot located in the side of said mattress core; andan inner supporting frame inside said open slot.

2. The mattress core of claim 1 further comprises a second open slot with similar structure as said first open slot.

3. The mattress core of claim 1 wherein said inner supporting frame is shaped to fill up said open slot

4. The mattress core of claim 4 further comprises a drawer inside of said inner supporting frame.

5. The mattress core of claim 1 wherein a handle is attached to the outer side of said draw.

6. The mattress core of claim 1 further comprises an outer cover wherein said outer cover further includes a top cover, a surrounding side cover, and said top cover and side cover enclose by a zipper or a plurality of snap buttons.

6. The mattress core of claim 6 wherein said side cover includes an opening, said opening matches the location of said open slot, and said open slot can be shown by lifting a cover flap configured to match the size of said open slot.
