Claims
- 1. A disk drive comprising:
a cartridge tray for receiving a cartridge containing a data storage disk; an ejection mechanism for ejecting said cartridge from said disk drive; and an eject limiter positioned to catch said cartridge as said cartridge is ejected by said ejection mechanism.
- 2. The disk drive of claim 1 comprising a pair of eject limiters.
- 3. The disk drive of claim 2 wherein each of said eject limiters comprises a resilient member.
- 4. The disk drive of claim 3 wherein said resilient member comprises a spring having a feature for engaging an eject limit catch on said cartridge.
- 5. The disk drive of claim 4 wherein said feature comprises a bend in said spring.
- 6. The disk drive of claim 1 wherein said ejection mechanism comprises a spring-loaded arm for engaging said cartridge.
- 7. A disk drive comprising:
a cartridge tray for receiving a cartridge containing a data storage disk; a means for releasing said cartridge from said cartridge tray; and a means for preventing said cartridge from being fully ejected from said cartridge.
- 8. A method of preventing a cartridge from being fully ejected from a disk drive comprising:
providing a disk drive having a cartridge tray for receiving a cartridge containing a data storage disk, said cartridge comprising an eject limiter; inserting a cartridge into said cartridge tray, said cartridge comprising an eject limit catch; causing said cartridge to be released from said cartridge tray; and causing said eject limiter to engage said eject limit catch thereby preventing said cartridge from being ejected from said disk drive.
- 9. The method of claim 8 wherein said eject limiter comprises a spring.
