Claims
- 1. A storage case for a disc-type media comprising a base and cover and means securing the base and cover together but permitting opening and closing thereof, in combination with a disc pick-up device that is adapted to be supported in the storage case, said pick-up device comprising a forked member having oppositely disposed deflectable legs, with means for engaging with the central hole in the disc being retrieved from disc player, afterwhich said pick-up device being placed in disc support hole located in said base, dropping the disc down into base wherein a support platform for the disc having said hole therein functions as a guide for the pick-up device, said hole in platform utilized for proper positioning to drop disc down to its stored platform.
- 2. A disc pick-up device comprising a forked member having oppositely disposed deflectable legs, having ears located on opposite respective legs for limiting the upward position of the disc as supported on the pick-up device, being retrieved from disc player, further having notch means located at the bottom of said legs, said notch means adapted for engaging with edges defining the hole in the disc and picking the disc up from a storage case.
- 3. A storage case having rigidity and designed in particular for storing a compact disc which may be stored in said storage case,
said storage case having a base and cover and means coupling said base and cover together but permitting opening and closing of said storage case, said base and cover located at opposite ends in relationship to each other, said storage case having side walls located at opposite ends in relationship to each other, said storage case having a front wall and back wall located at opposite ends in relationship to each other, said storage case base and cover, side walls, front and back walls, aiding in storage case being closed while storage case remains in the closed position, said side walls of storage case comprising a vertical wall extending up from the base on either side, said cover comprising a portion which is adapted to be utilized for contacting and seating on said vertical wall which extends up from the base while storage case remains in the closed position, said side walls terminating at the rear of storage case in conjunction with said back wall terminating approximate together, said front wall of storage case having an intentional recess for allowing a portion of said cover to extend beyound said recess for the purpose of providing a thumb lift for said cover to be utilized for an aid to opening the storage case.
- 4. A storage case having rigidity and designed in particular for storing a compact disc,
said storage case comprising a base and cover and means securing said base and cover together but permitting opening and closing thereof, said base having an inside and an outside, and wherein said base inside has indicia facing in an upward direction and viewable after the stored disc has been removed from the storage case.
- 5. A storage case having rigidity and designed in particular for storing a compact disc which may be stored in said storage case,
said storage case having a base and cover and means securing said base and cover together, said base having a centrally located raised surface upon which said stored disc may rest while maintaining said disc a distance above the base, said base further including retaining means between which said stored disc may rest, said retaining means restricting side movement of said stored disc away from said centrally located raised surface upon which said stored disc may rest, said base being configured to not interfere with said retaining means, said cover including centrally located means on the innerside thereof which serves to hold said stored disc in place between said centrally located raised surface in said base upon which said stored disc may rest and said centrally located means on said innerside of said cover, said centrally located means on said innerside of said cover keeping said stored disc a distance below the innerside of said cover while said disc is stored in said storage case.
- 6. A base and cover utilized and designed in particular for a compact disc,
said base having an inside surface and an outside surface, said cover having an inside surface and an outside surface, said base having a centrally located raised surface upon which the disc may be seated while maintaining the disc a distance above the inside surface of the base, said cover having centrally located means of projection on the inside surface of the cover which serves to hold the disc a distance below said inside surface of the cover, while the disc is seated on the centrally located raised surface in the base, the centrally located means of projection on the inside of the cover maintainins the disc between the centrally located raised surface and the centrally located means of projection so as to prevent the playing or memory portion of the disc from coming in contact with either inside surface.
