Claims
- 1. A medical instrument which is insertable into a body cavity of a subject and which is used in cooperation with a treating unit, comprising:
- an insertion section including a distal end which is insertable into the body cavity of a subject and having a first opening, a proximal base end located outside the body of the subject, and a channel extending from the proximal base end toward the first opening;
- an operation section connected to the proximal base end and having a second opening leading to the channel;
- a mount piece provided around the second opening; and
- a valve for closing the second opening said valve including:
- a body having first means adapted to be opened when the treating unit is inserted into the channel through the second opening and to be closed when the treating unit is withdrawn from the channel and second means detachably mounted on the mount piece; and
- third means for destroying the body when the body is removed from the mount piece.
- 2. The medical instrument according to claim 1, further comprising an endoscopic means, provided in said insertion section, for observing said body cavity.
- 3. The medical instrument according to claim 1, wherein said insertion section comprises a catheter and a channel is formed in that catheter.
- 4. A valve adapted to be fitted over a mount piece of a medical instrument whose distal end is inserted into a body cavity of a subject in cooperation with a treating unit, comprising:
- a valve body having first means formed by an elastic material and adapted to be opened when said another medical unit is inserted therethrough and closed when the medical unit is removed therefrom and second means for detachably fitting the body over the mount piece;
- a third means for destroying the valve body when the valve body is removed from the mount piece.
- 5. The valve according to claim 4, wherein said third means comprises means for making the second means in a not-reusable state.
- 6. The valve according to claim 4, wherein said third means comprises means for breaking a seal relative to said valve body.
- 7. The valve according to claim 4, wherein said third means comprises a weakened portion provided in said valve body.
- 8. The valve according to claim 7, wherein said weakened portion is linearly extended, as a thin-walled portion, in said valve body.
- 9. The valve according to claim 7, wherein said third means comprises perforations in the valve body.
- 10. The valve according to claim 4, further comprising a tab coupled to said valve body so as to remove the valve body from said mount piece, and wherein said third means is formed at a junction between said tab and said valve body.
- 11. The valve according to claim 4, wherein said valve body has a wall and said third means is formed as a helical line in the wall of the valve body.
- 12. The valve according to claim 4, wherein said second means comprises means which is detachably fitted over a mount piece of an endoscope.
- 13. The valve according to claim 4, wherein said second means comprises means which is detachably fitted over the mount piece of a catheter.
