Claims
- 1. A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of a medical condition in a mammal, comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount for treatment of said condition of a diperoxide derivative of a non-terpene unsaturated hydrocarbon in a pharmaceutically acceptable, non-aqueous carrier wherein said derivative is prepared by passing ozone through said hydrocarbon under conditions that provide for intimate contact between said hydrocarbon and said ozone at a temperature of 35.degree. C. or below.
- 2. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 in the form of a toothpaste.
- 3. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 in the form of a mouthwash.
- 4. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 in the form of a rectal or vaginal suppository.
- 5. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 in the form of a topical preparation.
- 6. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 in a form suitable for sublingual application.
- 7. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 in a form suitable for parenteral administration.
- 8. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 7 applied to a condom.
- 9. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 in combination with soap.
- 10. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein said hydrocarbon comprises a compound selected from the group consisting of 3-hexene-1-ol and erucic acid.
- 11. A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of a medical condition in a mammal, comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount for treatment of said condition of a trioxolane derivative of a non-terpene unsaturated hydrocarbon in a pharmaceutically acceptable, non-aqueous carrier wherein said derivative is prepared by passing ozone through said hydrocarbon under conditions that provide for intimate contact between said hydrocarbon and said ozone at a temperature of below 20.degree. C.
