Claims
- 1. A tightly compacted body of powdered inhalation medicament for administration from an inhalation device, comprising:
- a loose powder including an active ingredient selected from the group consisting of salbutamol and terbutaline, and having a particle size of from 1 to 10 .mu.m compressed to form said tightly compacted body;
- the degree of compression being sufficient to impart said tightly compacted body with structural integrity such that a plurality of unit doses of medicament can be metered therefrom by abrasion.
- 2. A tightly compacted body according to claim 1 compressed by applying a pressure of from 30.times.10.sup.4 to 150 .times.10.sup.4 Nm.sup.-2 to the loose powder.
- 3. A tightly compacted body according to claim 1 wherein the loose powder contains an inert carrier in addition to the active ingredient.
- 4. A tightly compacted body according to claim 3 wherein the inert carrier is lactose.
