Claims
- 1. A compound represented by the formula ##STR8## wherein Y is selected from the group consisting of NH.sub.2, ##STR9## and n and m are both integers from 2 to 12 with the proviso that the value of n plus m is no more than 12, and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 2. A compound as in claim 1 of the formula ##STR10##
- 3. A compound as in claim 1 of the formula ##STR11##
- 4. A compound as in claim 1 of the formula ##STR12##
- 5. A compound as in claim 1 of the formula ##STR13##
- 6. A compound as in claim 1 of the formula ##STR14##
- 7. A composition useful for treating infections caused by trypanosomes or filaria comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and, as the principal active ingredient in an amount which is effective for treating such infections, a compound of the formula: ##STR15## wherein Y is selected from the group consisting of NH.sub.2, ##STR16## and n and m are both integers from 2 to 12 with the proviso that the value of n plus m is no more than 12, and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 8. A composition of claim 7 comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and, as the principal active ingredient, a compound of the formula: ##STR17##
- 9. A composition of claim 7 comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and, as the principal active ingredient, a compound of the formula: ##STR18##
- 10. A composition of claim 7 comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and, as the principal active ingredient, a compound of the formula: ##STR19##
- 11. A composition of claim 7 comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and, as the principal active ingredient, a compound of the formula: ##STR20##
- 12. A composition of claim 7 comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and, as the principal active ingredient, a compound of the formula: ##STR21##
- 13. A method of treating infections caused by trypanosomes or filaria of mammals which comprises treating a mammal in need of such treatment with a trypanocidally or macrofilaricidally effective amount of a compound represented by the formula: ##STR22## wherein Y is selected from the group consisting of NH.sub.2, ##STR23## and n and m are both integers from 2 to 12 with the proviso that the value of n plus m is no more than 12, and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 14. A method of treating infections caused by trypanosomes or filaria as in claim 13 of mammals which comprises treating a mammal in need of such treatment with a trypanocidally or macrofilaricidally effective amount of a compound represented by the formula: ##STR24##
- 15. A method of treating infections caused by trypanosomes or filaria as in claim 13 of mammals which comprises treating a mammal in need of such treatment with a trypanocidally or macrofilaricidally effective amount of a compound represented by the formula: ##STR25##
- 16. A method of treating infections caused by trypanosomes or filaria as in claim 13 of mammals which comprises treating a mammal in need of such treatment with a trypanocidally or macrofilaricidally effective amount of a compound represented by the formula: ##STR26##
- 17. A method of treating infections caused by trypanosomes or filaria as in claim 13 of mammals which comprises treating a mammal in need of such treatment with a trypanocidally or macrofilaricidally effective amount of a compound represented by the formula: ##STR27##
- 18. A method of treating infections caused by trypanosomes or filaria as in claim 13 of mammals which comprises treating a mammal in need of such treatment with a trypanocidally or macrofilaricidally effective amount of a compound represented by the formula: ##STR28##
