Claims
- 1. A lightweight composite camouflage construction comprising an open mesh net substrate and a continuous sheet overlying the substrate and bonded to the substrate along at least three spaced lines of attachment, said sheet being cut on opposite sides of said lines of attachment to form a plurality of lobes, each lobe having a base portion attached to the substrate by one of said lines of attachment and an outer end portion free from the substrate to simulate the appearance of natural objects of a terrain, said sheet being color patterned in desired coloration to conform to the terrain in which the camouflage structure is utilized, said plurality of lobes being wrinkled and delustered by an application of heat that is over 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2. A lightweight composite camouflage construction as defined in claim 1, wherein said application of heat is in the range of 400 to 1100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 3. A lightweight composite camouflage construction as defined in claim 1, wherein said application of heat is in the range of 400 to 900 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 4. A lightweight composite camouflage construction as defined in claim 1, wherein said application of heat is in the range of 400 to 700 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 5. A lightweight composite camouflage construction as defined in claim 1, wherein said application of heat is in the range of 400 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 6. A lightweight composite camouflage construction comprising an open mesh net substrate and a continuous sheet overlying the substrate and bonded to the substrate along at least three spaced lines of attachment, said sheet being cut on opposite sides of said lines of attachment to form a plurality of lobes, each lobe having a base portion attached to the substrate by one of said lines of attachment and an outer end portion free from the substrate to simulate the appearance of natural objects of a terrain, said sheet being color patterned in desired coloration to conform to the terrain in which the camouflage structure is utilized, said plurality of lobes being wrinkled and delustered by an application of heat in the range of 400 to 1100 degrees Fahrenheit wherein said plurality of lobes are shrunk during heating to a size in a range of between fifty to seventy-five percent of the original size prior to said application of heat.
- 7. A lightweight composite camouflage construction comprising an open mesh net substrate and a continuous sheet overlying the substrate and bonded to the substrate along at least three spaced lines of attachment, said sheet being cut on opposite sides of said lines of attachment to form a plurality of lobes, each lobe having a base portion attached to the substrate by one of said lines of attachment and an outer end portion free from the substrate to simulate the appearance of natural objects of a terrain, said sheet being color patterned in desired coloration to conform to the terrain in which the camouflage structure is utilized, said plurality of lobes being wrinkled and delustered by an application of heat in the range of 400 to 1100 degrees Fahrenheit wherein said plurality of lobes are shrunk during heating to a size in a range of between fifty to seventy-five percent of the original size prior to said application of heat and wherein the camouflage construction has a gloss of about zero measured at an angle of eighty-five degrees.
