The men's undergarment may optionally be arranged wherein the entire perimeter edge of the inner pouch panel is secured to the main panel. In one example the men's undergarment is arranged wherein the perimeter edge of the inner pouch panel is continuously sewn to the main panel.
The men's undergarment as disclosed herein wherein the opening is ovoid.
Disclosed herein, as shown in
Before continuing, an axes system 10 is disclosed only for aid in description, these axes and directions not limiting the claims to any particular orientation. The axes system 10 including a longitudinal axis 12, a lateral axis 14, and a transverse axis 16 each orthogonal to the other axes. Also disclosed is a radial axis 18 generally aligned with the longitudinal axis 12 while generally laterally and generally transversely centered on the men's undergarment 20.
The main panel 22 as can be easily understood by one of ordinary skill in the art, view the Figs. is shown having an edge 30a forming a left leg opening 32a. When worn, the wearer's left leg 34a passes through the left leg opening 32a. The main panel 22 also has an edge 30b forming a right leg opening 32b. When worn, the wearer's right leg 34b passes through the right leg opening 32b.
Unlike most known undergarments, this undergarment provides a pouch which as can be easily appreciated by viewing the drawings, comprises a pouch into which protrudes the male external genitalia. The main panel 22 of this example comprises an outer pouch panel 36 and an inner pouch panel 38. The center portion of the inner pouch panel 38 offset from the outer pouch panel 36, forming the pouch therebetween. In one example, as shown, the inner pouch panel 38 has a perimeter edge 40 secured to the main panel 22. The inner pouch panel 38 as shown has a surface 42 defining a genital opening 44 there though, through which the wearer's external genitalia protrude into the open region 46 of the pouch 48.
In one example, as shown, the surface 42 defining the genital opening 44 is continuously offset 50 from the perimeter edge 40 of the inner pouch panel 38. In the example shown, it is evident that the offset 50 comprises at least a first offset 50a between the surface 42 and the transverse adjacent perimeter edge 40 of the inner pouch panel 38 nearest the upper edge 24 of the undergarment 20. Similarly it is evident from the Figs. that the offset 50 comprises at least a second offset 50b between the surface 42 and the transverse adjacent perimeter edge 40 of the inner pouch panel 38 transversely opposed to the first offset 50a. Similarly it is evident from the Figs. that the offset 50 comprises at least a third offset 50c and laterally opposed fourth offset 50d between the surface 42 and the transverse adjacent perimeter edge 40 of the inner pouch panel 38. In other terms, the offset 50 in this example is a portion of the inner pouch panel 38 that extends circumferentially around the surface 42 and offsets the edge 42 from the perimeter edge 40 continuously. In one example shown, the surface 42 defining the opening 44 is inwardly (transversely) offset from the main panel 22, thus forming an open region 46. The wearer's external genitalia protrude into the open region 46 and thus do not extend outward of the main panel 22, are securely held within the open region 46 of the pouch 48, and substantially do not directly contact the wearer 28 where the inner pouch panel 38 is present.
The men's undergarment 20 may optionally be arranged wherein the entire perimeter edge 40 of the inner pouch panel 38 is secured to the main panel 22. In one example the men's undergarment 20 is arranged wherein the perimeter edge 40 of the inner pouch panel is continuously sewn via seams 52, 54, 56a, and 56b, to the main panel 22 as evident from the drawings.
The men's undergarment as disclosed herein and shown in the Figs. may be arranged wherein the opening 44 is ovoid. Ovoid commonly defined as resembling or relating to an oval; approximately oval or ovoid. Oval being a generic geometric shape having a rounded and slightly elongated outline or shape. This eliminates and sharp curves or corners that otherwise may cause discomfort to the wearer.
In one example, the outer pouch panel 36 may comprise two or more panels. In one example, these panels comprise a first front pouch panel 58, attached to the other components of the undergarment 20 by a seam 60. A second front pouch panel 62 may be used, this second front pouch panel 62 attached to the other components of the undergarment 20 by a seam 64. The second front pouch panel 62 may be attached to the first front pouch panel 58 at a seam 66. Also, a third front pouch panel 68 may be attached to the other components of the undergarment 20 by a seam 70. One or more edges 72 of the third 68 may not be secured to other components of the main panel 22. In this way, an overlap opening 74 may be provided as is commonly known in the art of men's undergarment. This overlap opening may be closed or opened as desired with no fasteners such as zippers, snaps, or buttons.
Looking to the Figs., it is clearly shown that the main panel 22 may be comprised of a plurality of panels selected from the list including: a waist band 76, right side panel 78a, left side panel 78b, seat panel 80, crotch panel 82, the inner pouch panel 36, and the inner pouch panel 38.
