Claims
- 1. A metal article coated with a coating composition comprised of a mixture of about 75 to 90% by weight of (1) a carboxylic acid containing olefin copolymer having reactive carboxyl groups prepared from about 60 to about 90 percent by weight of an .alpha. -olefin having the general formula RCH=CH.sub.2 wherein R is selected from the group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms and about 10 to about 40 percent by weight of an .alpha., .beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, and about 10 to 25 percent by weight of (2) an aliphatic polyamine selected from the group consisting of hexamethylene tetramine and amines of the general formula NH.sub.2 (C.sub.2 H.sub.4 NH).sub.x C.sub.2 H.sub.4 NH.sub.2, x being an integer from 0 to 20.
- 2. The metal article of claim 1 wherein the article is an aluminum container having the coating mixture applied to the internal surface thereof.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of the Invention
This is a division of Ser. No. 395,820, filed Sept. 10, 1973 now U.S. Pat. No. 3,904,569.
This application also is a continuation-in-part of our copending application Ser. No. 301,022, filed Oct. 26, 1972, and now abandoned.
