Claims
- 1. A metal sheet bending machine for being a metal sheet, said machine having an upper bender and lower bender between which the metal sheet is positioned for bending the metal sheet to a desired angle along a bending line, said machine comprising:
- (a) a measuring light source for projecting a linear image onto an outer face of the metal sheet while the metal sheet is being bent to the desired angle, said light source positioned relative to the metal sheet so that the linear image of projected measuring light rotates as the bending angle of the metal sheet changes as a result of bending of the metal sheet by changing the relative position of the upper and lower benders;
- (b) photographing means for sequentially photographing the outer face of the bent metal sheet on which the linear image of projected measuring light is formed by the measuring light source, while the metal sheet is being bent to the desired angle, said photographing means forming sequential images representative of the position of the linear image on the outer face as the metal sheet is bent;
- (c) memory means for storing the sequential images which have been photographed by the photographing means, each sequential image including the linear image of projected measuring light;
- (d) calculating means for calculating, based on changes in the rotated angular position of the linear image of successive sequential image stored in the memory means and based on a preset photographing angle for the photographing means and a preset light projecting angle for the measuring light source, a bending angle of the metal sheet while the metal sheet is being bent and the resulting sequential images are being photographed; and
- (e) control means for controlling the positions of the upper bender and/or lower bender according to a calculation result obtained from the calculating means.
- 2. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a reference light source forming a linear image of projected reference light on the outer face of the metal sheet while the metal sheet is being bent to the desired angle so as to form the linear image at a desired fixed angle irrespective of the bending angle, on the images photographed by the photographing means, wherein the desired bending angle of the metal sheet calculated by the calculating means is a function of an angle formed by the linear image of projected measuring light and the linear image formed by the reference light source.
- 3. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claim 2, wherein the reference light source forms the linear image of projected reference light such that said desired bending angle of the metal sheet calculated by the calculating means is obtained when the linear image of projected measuring light is parallel with the linear image of projected reference light.
- 4. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in any one of the claims 1, 2 or 3, wherein said measuring light source and said photographing means are each movable along an axis in parallel with a bending line of the metal sheet.
- 5. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claims 2 or 3, wherein said reference light source is movable along an axis in parallel with the bending line of the metal sheet.
- 6. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claims 2 or 3, wherein said measuring light source, said photographing means and said reference light source are each movable along an axis in parallel with the bending line of the metal sheet.
- 7. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in any one of the claims 1, 2 or 3, wherein said linear images photographed by the photographing means are displayed on an image display means.
- 8. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in any one of the claims 1, 2 or 3, wherein said measuring light source comprises a source selected from a slit-shaped measuring light source and a plurality of spot-shaped measuring light sources arranged in a line.
- 9. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claims 2 or 3, wherein said reference light source comprises a source selected from a slit-shaped reference light source and a plurality of spot-shaped reference light sources arranged in a line.
- 10. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claim 1, wherein the photographing angle is set to 90.degree. and the light projecting angle is set to 45.degree..
- 11. A metal sheet bending machine for bendinq a metal sheet, said machine having an upper bender and lower bender between which the metal sheet is positioned for bending the metal sheet to a desired angle along a bending line, said machine comprising:
- (a) a measuring light source for projecting a linear image onto an outer face of the metal sheet while the metal sheet is being bent to the desired angle, said light source positioned relative to the metal sheet so that the linear image of projected measuring light rotates as the bending angle of the metal sheet changes as a result of bending of the metal sheet by changing the relative position of the upper and lower benders;
- (b) photographing means for sequentially photographing the outer face of the bent metal sheet on which the linear image of projected measuring light is formed by the measuring light source, while the metal sheet is being bent to the desired angle, said photographing means forming sequential images representative of the position of the linear image on the outer face as the metal sheet is bent;
- (c) memory means for storing the sequential images which have been photographed by the photographing means, each sequential image including the linear image of projected measuring light;
- (d) calculating means for calculating, based on changes in the rotated angular position of the linear image of successive sequential image stored in the memory means based on a first equation representative of a plane defined by the image of the linear image of projected measuring light, formed by the photographing means, and by a focal point of the photographing means, and based on a second equation representative of a plane of measuring light projected from the measuring light source, a bending angle of the metal sheet while the metal sheet is being bent and the resulting sequential images are being photographed; and
- (e) control means for controlling the positions of the upper bender and/or lower bender according to a calculation result obtained from the calculating means.
- 12. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claim 11, wherein the first equation is calculated based on the coordinates of an image formed by the photographing means, the image being formed on a calibration plate disposed between the outer face of the metal sheet and the photographing means.
- 13. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claim 12, wherein the calibration plate is a plate on which there is depicted a grid, dot or concentric circle pattern having a given pitch.
- 14. The metal sheet bending machine as claimed in claim 11, wherein the second equation is calculated based on the positions of two slits through which the measuring light passes, the slits being disposed between the measuring light source and the outer face of the metal sheet.
