Abstract
A metal trashcan includes a base and a barrel standing on the base. That is, the barrel is integrated with the base at a lower end. The barrel defines an opening at an upper end. The profile of the opening is different from the profile of the base so that the barrel includes an irregular shape.
Description
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a metal trashcan and, more particularly, to a metal trashcan that includes an irregular barrel.

2. Related Prior Art

In Taiwanese Publication No. 245232, a conventional trash storage apparatus includes a can 10, a cover 11 mounted on the can 10 and a door 12 pivotally connected with the cover 11. The can 10 includes a base (not shown) and a barrel (not numbered) projecting from the base. The barrel looks like a circle in a cross-sectional view. Such a regular shape renders the barrel vulnerable to deformation. When the barrel is hit, a dent can easily be left therein. Such dents are particularly obvious in contrast of the regular shape and unpleasant aesthetically.

Taiwanese Publication No. 245232 disclosed another conventional trash storage apparatus includes a can 2, two covers 4 pivotally installed on the can 2 and a handle 50 connected with the can 2. The can 2 includes a base (not shown) and a barrel (not numbered) projecting from the base. The barrel looks like a rectangle in a cross-sectional view. Such a regular shape renders the barrel vulnerable to deformation. When the barrel is hit, a dent can easily be left therein. Such dents are particularly obvious in contrast of the regular shape and unpleasant aesthetically. The present invention is therefore intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in prior art.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

According to the present invention, a metal trashcan includes a base and a barrel standing on the base. That is, the barrel is integrated with the base at a lower end. The barrel defines an opening at an upper end. The profile of the opening is different from the profile of the base so that the barrel includes an irregular shape.

The primary advantage of the metal trashcan according to the present invention is that the irregular shape renders the barrel stronger than that of the conventional trash storage apparatuses discussed in the Related

Prior Art

Other objects, advantages, and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

The present invention will be described through detailed illustration of embodiments referring to the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a metal trashcan according to a first embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a bottom perspective view of the metal trashcan shown in FIG. 1.

FIG. 3 is a top view of the metal trashcan of FIG. 1.

FIG. 4 is a top view of a metal trashcan according to a second embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 5 is a top view of a metal trashcan according to a third embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 6 is a top view of a metal trashcan according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, according to a first embodiment of the present invention; a metal trashcan 10 includes a base 12 with a profile and a barrel 13 projecting from the base 12. The barrel 13 includes an opening 11 with a profile. The profile of the opening 11 is different from the profile of the base 12.

The profile of the opening 11 is substantially a triangle so that the barrel 13 includes three corners 14 near the opening 11. The profile of the base 12 is substantially a quadrangle so that the barrel 13 includes four corners 15 near the base 12. Thus, the barrel 13 includes an irregular shape, i.e., it does not include a circular wall or a plurality of flat walls.

FIG. 4 shows a metal trashcan 10 according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The second embodiment is identical to the first embodiment except that the profile of the opening 11 is substantially a quadrangle instead of a triangle. The quadrangle formed by the opening 11 is larger than the quadrangle formed by the base 12. The quadrangle formed by the opening 11 is not aligned with the quadrangle formed by the base 12. Thus, the barrel 13 includes an irregular shape.

FIG. 5 shows a metal trashcan 10 according to a third embodiment of the present invention. The third embodiment is identical to the second embodiment except that the profile of the base 12 is substantially a circle instead of a quadrangle. Thus, the barrel 13 includes an irregular shape.

FIG. 6 shows a metal trashcan 10 according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention. The fourth embodiment is identical to the third embodiment except that the profile of the opening 11 is substantially an oval instead of a quadrangle.

In each of the above-mentioned embodiments of the present invention, the barrel 13 includes an irregular shape that renders it less vulnerable to deformation than the barrels of the conventional trash storage apparatuses discussed in the Related Prior Art.

In each of the above-mentioned embodiments of the present invention, the periphery of the opening 11 is longer than that of the base 12. Hence, it is convenient for a user to put garbage in or take something out of the metal trashcan 10. However, the periphery of the opening 11 can be equal to or shorter than that of the base 12.

The present invention has been described through detailed illustration of the embodiments. Those skilled in the art can derive variations from the embodiments. The embodiments hence shall not limit the scope of the present invention defined in the claims.
