Claims
- 1. A method for testing a plurality of differential pressure sensors, each of said plurality of differential pressure sensors including a reference side and a measurement side, said method comprising applying a pressure having a predetermined value to said reference side of said plurality of differential pressure sensors while atmospheric pressure is present on the measurement side of said plurality of differential pressure sensors, measuring the output values from said measurement side for each of said plurality of differential pressure sensors, and comparing said plurality of measured output values.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein said predetermined value comprises a positive pressure value.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein said predetermined value comprises a negative pressure value.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein said predetermined value comprises a first predetermined value, and including applying a pressure having a second predetermined value to said reference side of said plurality of differential pressure sensors.
- 5. The method of claim 4 wherein one of said first and second predetermined values comprises a positive pressure value and wherein said other of said first and second predetermined values comprises a negative pressure value.
- 6. The method of claim 1 including applying said pressure by means of a pump.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein said applying said pressure is carried out in an apparatus for the extracorporeal treatment of blood.
- 8. The method of claim 7 wherein said applying said pressure is carried out in a dialysis monitor.
- 9. The method of claim 1, wherein the method tests the plurality of differential pressure sensors with a gas.
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein the gas is air.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein said plurality of measured output values are compared with one another.
- 12. Apparatus for testing a plurality of differential pressure sensors, each of said plurality of differential pressure sensors including a reference side and a measurement side, said apparatus comprising pressure means for simultaneously applying a pressure having a predetermined value to said reference side of said plurality of differential pressure sensors while atmospheric pressure is present on the measurement side of said plurality of differential pressure sensors.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 12 wherein said pressure means comprises pressure generating means.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 13 including connection means for connecting said pressure generating means to said plurality of differential pressure sensors.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein said connecting means comprises tube means.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 15 wherein said connection means comprises pipe means.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 12 wherein said pressure means comprises a pump.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 17 wherein said pump is selected from the group consisting of a plunger pump and a peristaltic pump.
- 19. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein said connection means comprises permanent connection means.
- 20. The apparatus of claim 14 wherein said connection means connects said pressure generating means to said plurality of differential pressure sensors solely for testing said differential pressure sensors.
- 21. The apparatus of claim 19 wherein said connection means includes an equalization opening dimensioned such that said pressure means can apply said pressure having said predetermined value to said reference sides of said plurality of differential pressure sensors and the surrounding pressure can be applied to said reference sides of said plurality of differential pressure sensors as a reference value.
- 22. The apparatus of claim 12, wherein the apparatus tests the plurality of differential pressure sensors with a gas.
- 23. The apparatus of claim 22 wherein the gas is air.
