Claims
- 1. A method for determining whether a particular trigger pattern is misplaced, comprising:
- determining a first time interval between a first trigger pattern and a second trigger pattern;
- determining a second time interval between said first trigger pattern and a third trigger pattern; and
- comparing the first and second time intervals to determine whether said first trigger pattern is misplaced.
- 2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:
- subtracting a nominal interval value from said first time interval to obtain a first error value;
- subtracting said nominal interval value from said second time interval to obtain a second error value; and
- wherein said comparing comprises subtracting said first and second error values from one another to determine whether said first trigger pattern is misplaced.
- 3. The method of claim 2, further comprising determining an amount by which said first trigger pattern is misplaced, if said first trigger pattern is determined to be misplaced.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein said determining said amount comprises averaging said first and second error values.
- 5. An apparatus for determining whether a particular trigger pattern is misplaced, comprising:
- a first measuring unit adapted to determine a first time interval between a first trigger pattern and a second trigger pattern;
- a second measuring unit adapted to determine a second time interval between said first trigger pattern and a third trigger pattern; and
- a processing unit adapted to compare the first and second time intervals to determine whether said first trigger pattern is misplaced.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 5, wherein said first measuring unit and said second measuring unit are the same measuring unit.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 5, further comprising:
- a computing unit adapted to subtract a nominal interval value from said first time interval to obtain a first error value and to subtract said nominal interval value from said second time interval to obtain a second error value; and
- wherein said processing unit is further adapted to subtract said first and second error values from one another to determine whether said first trigger pattern is misplaced.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein said processing unit is further adapted to determine an amount by which said first trigger pattern is misplaced, if said first trigger pattern is determined to be misplaced.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein said processing unit is further adapted to average said first and second error values in determining said amount.
