Claims
- 1. A method for making a coated paperboard web comprising the steps of:heating with infrared radiation an uncoated paperboard web to a temperature in the range of about 190 F. to about 260 F.; extruding polyethylene terephthalate directly onto said heated paperboard web with a coat weight range between about 16 lbs./3000 ft2 and about 20 lbs./3000 ft2; and surface treating said coated paperboard web.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein said surface treating comprises contacting said coated paperboard web with a chill roll.
