- holding the top perimeter portion (19) of the bag (11) fully open in circular position by leaving the flexible resilient rod in the top perimeter portion (19),
- placing the bag (11) on the ground with the fully open top perimeter portion (19) facing up,
- placing an arm load of fallen leaves, lawn clippings, or other trash into the fully open top perimeter portion (19) without anyone holding the bag open,
- gripping the rod (21) and the top perimeter portion (19) of the bag (11) on opposite sides and lifting them above the top level of the load of leaves, lawn clippings, or other trash so that the said fallen leaves (23), lawn clippings, or other trash, drop to the bottom of the bag (11) to ready the bag (11) for the next load of trash,
- filling the bag (11) with said trash by repeating said placing step and said gripping step until the bag (11) is filled,
- slipping the rod (21) out of the top perimeter portion (19) to be used again,
- and closing the top portion (17) of the bag.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the rod (21) is longer than the top perimeter portion (19),
- inserting one end of said rod (21) through the top perimeter portion (19) until the ends (21a, 21b) of the rod (21) overlap and extend outside the top perimeter portion (19),
- and slipping the rod (21) out of the top perimeter portion (19) by grasping one end of the rod (21) and pulling on it to pull the rod out of the top perimeter bag portion (19).
- 3. The method of claim 1, including providing drawstrings in the top perimeter portion of the bag, and closing the bag by pulling on the drawstrings.
- 4. The method of claim 1, including
- piercing holes (25) around the top perimeter portion (19) with an end (21a) of said flexible resilient rod (21) with an in and out weaving action to attach the rod (21) to the top perimeter portion (19) of the bag (11).
- 5. The method of claim 1,
- said top perimeter bag portion (19) having a hem (27),
- and inserting one end of said flexible resilient rod (21) through the hem (27).
- 6. The method of claim 5,
- said body portion (13) of the trash bag (11) having a vertical seam (29) which extends from top (17) to bottom (15) of the bag (11),
- slitting the top of the hem (27) on both sides of the seam (29) to form slits (31, 31a),
- and inserting one end of the rod (21) through the slits (31, 31a) to pass the seam (29).
- 7. The method of claim 5,
- said body portion (13) of the trash bag (11) having a vertical seam (29) which extends from top to bottom of the bag (11),
- cutting away the top edge of the bag (11) on both sides of the seam (29) to form cut out portions (33, 33a) in the top edge,
- and inserting one end of the rod (21) through the cut out portions (33, 33a) to pass over the seam (29).
- 8. The method of claim 1, including before inserting the rod through the top perimeter portion of the bag,
