Claims
- 1. A method for collecting and processing information from a vehicle, the information being useful for providing a loss-insurance coverage, comprising:(a) automatically transmitting information from the vehicle to a central vehicle-information management center, the information including information regarding a position of the vehicle, information regarding control of the vehicle, information regarding states of parts of the vehicle, a type of the vehicle, and identification of a user of the vehicle; (b) the central vehicle-information management center computing a utilization service fee based on the type of the vehicle and the identification of the user transmitted in step (a); (c) transmitting the computed fee and a request for confirmation from the central vehicle-information management center to the vehicle; and (d) transmitting a response from the vehicle to the central vehicle-information management center as to whether the user will effect insurance coverage.
- 2. A method for collecting and processing information from a vehicle, the information being useful for computing a service fee for a loss-insurance, comprising:(a) automatically transmitting information from the vehicle to a central vehicle-information management center, the information including information regarding a position of the vehicle, information regarding states of the vehicle, and identification of a user of the vehicle; (b) the central vehicle-information management center computing the service fee based on a type of the vehicle, the identification of the user and the information transmitting from the vehicle; and (c) transmitting the computed service fee to the user.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the information on the position of the vehicle includes latitude and longitude of the vehicle received from a navigation system.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein step (e) further includes monitoring data representing abrupt braking, abrupt steering, abrupt transmission and acceleration.
- 5. The method of claim 2, wherein the information on control of the vehicle includes a braking amount, a steering angle, an acceleration pedal angle, a fear count, an anti-skid (ABS) braking system operating time and a velocity suppression control (VSC) operating time.
- 6. The method of claim 2, wherein the information on conditions of vehicle parts includes a lubricant temperature, a lubricant pressure, a battery voltage, a fuel-residue quantity, a CPU state and a muffler temperature.
- 7. The method of claim 2, wherein at least part of the information is transmitted from the vehicle to an artificial satellite and related from the artificial satellite to the central vehicle information management center.
- 8. The method of claim 2, wherein at least part of the information is transmitted from the vehicle to the vehicle information management center using a land-based wireless communication method.
- 9. The method of claim 2, further comprising performing the following if the response in step (d) indicates that the user will effect insurance coverage:(e) monitoring car utilization time data and traveled route data by car onboard equipment and transmitting data regarding car utilization time and traveled route to the central vehicle-information management center; (f) the central vehicle-information management center generating compound data based on the information received in step (e); and (g) the central vehicle-information management center storing the data generated in step (f) and associating the data with the user.
- 10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:the central vehicle-information management center providing the data stored in step (g) to a loss insurance company.
- 11. The method of claim 9, further comprising:the central vehicle-information management center providing the data stored in step (g) to a fee computation outsourcing service company.
- 12. The method of claim 11, further comprising:the fee computation outsourcing service company calculating an insurance premium for the user at least partially based on information provided by the central vehicle-information management center, including calculating a fee-computation-object time based on the driving time data, and calculating traveled-route data for known areas, unknown areas, and areas with a predetermined level of accidents based on the traveled route data.
- 13. The method of claim 12, wherein the fee computation outsourcing service company calculates a lower premium when the traveled routes include known areas than when the traveled routes include unknown areas and areas with a predetermined level of accidents.
- 14. The method of claim 2, wherein the information transmitting from the vehicle includes information of braking control and information of acceleration control.
- 15. The method of claim 2, wherein the information transmitting from the vehicle includes information of a lubricant temperature, a battery voltage and a fuel condition.
- 16. The method of claim 2, further comprising;(e) monitoring car utilization time data and traveled route data by car onboard equipment and transmitting data regarding car utilization time data and traveled route data to the central vehicle-information management center; (f) the central vehicle-information management center generating compound data based on the information received in step (e); and (g) the central vehicle information management center storing the data generated in step (f) and associating the data with the user.
