Claims
- 1. A device for implantation in bone tissue, the device consisting of a threaded section joined to a terminal section, the threaded section having at least one helical channel encircling the threaded section embedded in its surface, the terminal section including a means for attaching a prosthesis.
- 2. A device for implantation in bone tissue, the device consisting of a threaded section joined to a terminal section, the threaded section having at least one helical channel encircling the threaded section embedded in its surface, there being a plurality of holes through the threaded section.
- 3. The device of claim 2, wherein the entrance to each hole is located in a helical channel.
- 4. A method for using a device for implantation in bone tissue, the device consisting of a threaded section joined to a terminal section, the threaded section having at least one helical channel encircling the threaded section embedded in its surface, the method comprising the steps:
- making a bone-tissue hole in bone tissue and collecting the bone fragments;
- crumbling the bone fragments to form crumbled bone fragments;
- impregnating the device with the crumbled bone fragments;
- screwing the device into the hole.
- 5. The method of claim 4, further comprising the step:
- placing a portion of the crumbled bone fragments in the bone-tissue hole prior to screwing the device into the hole.
- 6. Implant apparatus comprising:
- a collecting device for making a bone-tissue hole in bone tissue and converting the bone tissue that was resident in the hole into bone fragments, the collecting device also collecting the bone fragments, the collecting device having no parts which move relative to one another while making a bone-tissue hole;
- a crumbling device for receiving and crumbling the bone fragments collected by the collecting device into crumbled bone fragments;
- an implant device having a channel for receiving the crumbled bone fragments produced by the crumbling device.
- 7. A method for using the implant apparatus of claim 6, comprising the steps:
- making a bone-tissue hole in bone tissue and collecting the bone fragments using the hole-making device;
- crumbling the bone fragments using the bone-fragment crumbling device;
- impregnating the implant device with the crumbled bone fragments;
- implanting the implant device in the bone-tissue hole.
- 8. The method of claim 7, further comprising the step:
- placing a portion of the crumbled bone fragments in the bone-tissue hole prior to implanting the implant device in the hole.
- 9. A method for providing a means for attaching a prosthesis to bone tissue comprising the steps:
- making a hole in bone tissue and collecting the bone fragments utilizing a single tool having no parts which move relative to one another while making a bone-tissue hole;
- crumbling the bone fragments;
- providing an implant to which the prosthesis can be attached and which can be impregnated with the crumbled bone fragments;
- impregnating the implant with the crumbled bone fragments;
- installing the impregnated implant in the bone-tissue hole.
- 10. Apparatus for practicing the method of claim 9.
- 11. A method for implanting in bone tissue a device consisting of a threaded section joined to a terminal section, the threaded section having at least one helical channel encircling the threaded section embedded in its surface, the method comprising the steps:
- making a hole in bone tissue and collecting the bone fragments;
- crumbling the bone fragments;
- impregnating the implant device with the crumbled bone fragments;
- screwing the impregnated implant into the bone-tissue hole.
- 12. Apparatus for practicing the method of claim 11.
