1. Field
One or more exemplary embodiments relate to providing a user interface (UI) for medical imaging of an object, and more particularly, to automatically providing a user interface for capturing a medical image.
2. Description of the Related Art
Since imaging of an object by using a medical imaging device may affect the health of the object, the method has to be performed very carefully. In particular, when the object is imaged by using electromagnetic waves in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or the like, it is important to adjust the amount of electromagnetic waves according to physical characteristics of the object.
In order to perform a plurality of processes for imaging an object, a medical professional has to directly execute each of programs. Since the medical professional directly executes each of the programs of the processes, it takes a long time to end and execute each of the programs and the medical professional has to know a method and an order of executing the programs.
Exemplary embodiments may address at least the above problems and/or disadvantages and other disadvantages not described above. The exemplary embodiments are not required to overcome the disadvantages described above, and may not overcome any of the problems described above.
One or more exemplary embodiments relate to a method, apparatus, and recording medium for automatically providing processes for capturing a medical image of an object to a medical professional by using a medical imaging device.

Items which the medical professional 130 is to input in order to image the object 140 in the processes corresponding to the user interfaces provided by the device may be displayed on the user interfaces. Also, information about types of the plurality of processes for imaging the object 140 and an execution order may be displayed on the user interfaces.
The device 115 may transmit to the medical imaging device 120 the pieces of information input by the medical professional 130 through the user interfaces. The pieces of information may be transmitted through a plurality of communication interfaces for wireless communication and other types of communication interfaces for wired communication. For example, a plurality of communication interfaces for wireless communication such as infrared communication interfaces and Bluetooth wireless communication interfaces may be provided.
The medical imaging device 120 may image the object 140 based on the pieces of information received from the device 115.

The process of registering the information of the object 140 may be a process performed by the medical professional 130 to input personal information of the object 140 through a user interface. In detail, in the process of registering the information of the object 140, the device 115 may provide a user interface that may input personal information of the object 140 to the medical professional 130. The personal information of the object 140 may include information, for example, a height, a weight, an age, and a name, of the object 140. The personal information may include information about, for example, a health issue and a body part to be diagnosed of the object 140.
The process of planning the imaging may be a process of setting pieces of information needed to image the object 140 in consideration of a body part of the object 140 and physical characteristics of the object 140 to be imaged by the medical professional 130 before a medical image is captured. The pieces of information needed to image the object 140 may include, for example, slice information, coil information, and information about a type of a protocol.
The process of controlling the imaging may be a process of controlling the medical imaging device 120 while the object 140 is being imaged. In the process of controlling the imaging, a medical image of the object 140 captured by using the medical imaging device 120 may be displayed on a user interface. Also, a list for determining a process of post-processing the captured medical image and a time for which the object 140 is imaged may be displayed.
In the process of displaying the result of the imaging, the medical image of the object 140 captured based on the pieces of information set by the medical professional 130 may be displayed.
In the process of outputting the result of the imaging, the medical image of the object 140 may be transmitted to a doctor who diagnoses the object 140.

Items of pieces of information which the medical professional 130 is to currently input may be displayed on the user interfaces. The medical professional 130 may be guided to receive the pieces of information needed for the processes according to the items that are to be currently input and are displayed on the user interfaces. Also, information about where a process which the medical professional 130 is currently performing from among the plurality of processes places in the execution order of the selected imaging mode may be displayed.

The first user interface may be any one from among the plurality of user interfaces respectively corresponding to the plurality of processes. In detail, it may be assumed that a current process is a process of registering information of the object 140. The device 115 may provide a plurality of user interfaces that may input personal information such as a name, an age, or body information of the object 140 in the process of registering the information of the object 140. It may be assumed that the plurality of user interfaces are sequentially displayed such that information is input in an order of a name, an age, and body information. For example, assuming that a user interface that inputs an age of the object 140 is the first user interface that is currently being displayed, when the medical professional 130 completes an input of a name, the medical professional 130 may display a user interface that inputs an age, as the second user interface.
When the first user interface is a user interface that is displayed last from among the plurality of user interfaces corresponding to the process of registering the information of the object 140, a user interface corresponding to a next process may become the second user interface. In detail, in the advanced mode, a user interface that is displayed first from among the plurality of user interfaces corresponding to the process of planning the imaging may be displayed as the second user interface.
When information about items that are preset from among the items displayed on the first user interfaces is completely input, the device 115 may determine that the input of the medical professional 130 for the first user interface is completed. Also, when an input completion mark displayed on the first user interface is selected by the medical professional 130, the device 115 may determine that the input of the medical professional 130 for the first user interface is completed.
In operation 210, the device 115 generates a plurality of user interfaces respectively corresponding to a plurality of processes for imaging the object 140, as described above.
In operation 222, the device 115 may receive a mode selection signal for selecting an imaging mode from the medical professional 130. The imaging mode may be designated according to types of the processes needed in order for the medical professional 130 to image the object 140.

The basic mode may include a process of registering information of the object 140, a process of controlling imaging, a process of displaying a result of the imaging, and a process of outputting the result of the imaging. Since imaging is automatically planned by using registered data of the object 140 in the basic mode, a process of planning imaging may be omitted.
In detail, in the basic mode, information about an imaging plan which is preset may be loaded based on personal information of the object 140 which is preset. The preset information about the imaging plan may be stored in the device 115. Alternatively, a separate server that stores the preset information about the imaging plan may exist. When the separate server exists, the device 115 may obtain setting information of the medical imaging device 120 which is preset by communicating with the separate server.
The advanced mode may include a process of registering information of the object 140, a process of planning imaging, a process of controlling the imaging, a process of displaying a result of the imaging, and a process of outputting the result of the imaging.
The advanced mode may be used when the medical professional 130 needs to directly set the information about the imaging plan of the object 140. For example, when a physical structure of the object 140 is different from a general structure or when imaging is performed based on physical characteristics of the object 140, the medical professional 130 may plan direct imaging. As another example, when a body part of the object 140 has to be repeatedly imaged or when various experiments have to be performed in order to find a cause of a health problem, the medical professional 130 may plan direct imaging.
The analysis mode may include a process of registering information of the object 140, a process of planning imaging, a process of controlling the imaging, a process of displaying a result of the imaging, a process of analyzing the result of the imaging, and a process of outputting the result of the imaging.
The analysis mode may be used when clinical analysis of the result of the imaging is performed. For example, when an additional medical image, such as a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) image, a diffusion tenor imaging (DTI) image, or a perfusion-weighted image needs to be analyzed, a captured image may be analyzed by selecting the analysis mode.
When the automatic mode is selected, the device 115 may recommend a list displayed on the user interfaces such that only a function often used to capture a medical image is displayed on the user interfaces. In detail, in the automatic mode, a list of information that is input a number of times equal to or greater than a number of times that is preset by the medical professional 130 in the processes may be recommended and displayed on the user interfaces. For example, information that is used N times may be displayed, and information that is used a number of times less than N times may be searched through a search window on the user interfaces.
In operation 226, the device 115 determines a display order of user interfaces corresponding to the processes checked in operation 224. For example, when the medical professional 130 selects the basic mode, the device 115 determines a display order of user interfaces corresponding to a process of registering information of the object 140, a process of controlling imaging, a process of displaying a result of the imaging, and a process of outputting the result of the imaging. The device 115 may check a display order that is preset for the basic mode, and may determine a display order of the user interfaces based on the checked display order.
In operation 230, the device 115 may display a second user interface based on the determined display order as a user input regarding a first user interface is completed. Examples of the second user interface may include a user interface that is displayed after the first user interface according to the determined display order.
In operation 232, the device 115 determines whether an input of the medical professional 130 regarding a first user interface is completed.

The medical professional 130 may select the input completion mark by using an input device such as a mouse or a keyboard. Alternatively, the medical professional 130 may select the input completion mark by touching the input completion mark of the first user interface.

For example, while the medical professional 130 is setting an imaging plan of the object 140, when the medical professional 130 desires to check physical information of the object 140, the medical professional 130 may select a mark for a process of registering information of the object 140 displayed on a user interface.
The medical professional 130 may select a predetermined process by using an input device such as a mouse or a keyboard. The medical professional 130 may select a mark for the predetermined process.
In operation 244, the device 115 displays a user interface corresponding to the process selected in operation 242. For example, when the medical professional 130 selects a mark for registering information of the object 140, the device 115 may display a user interface corresponding to the process of registering the information of the object 140.
The medical professional 130 may end the current process by selecting a desired process from among the processes displayed on the user interface, and may receive a user interface corresponding to the desired process without an additional process of starting a new process.

When the received movement signal is a backward movement signal, a user interface before the first user interface that is being currently displayed may be displayed based on the determined order. In detail, it may be assumed that in a process of registering information of the object 140, the medical professional 130 inputs information of the object 140 in an order of a name, an age, and body information. When all of the inputs of the medical professional 130 regarding a first user interface from among the plurality of user interfaces are completed, the controller 1550 displays a second user interface from among the plurality of user interfaces based on the determined display order. The plurality of processes may include a process of registering information of the object 140, a process of planning imaging, a process of controlling the imaging, a process of displaying a result of the imaging, and a process of outputting the result of the imaging.
The controller 1550 may receive a signal for selecting an imaging mode of the medical imaging device 115 from the medical professional 130 in order to determine a display order of the plurality of user interfaces. The imaging mode may include at least one of a basic mode, an advanced mode, an analysis mode, and an automatic mode. In the automatic mode, the device 115 may recommend to a user interface a list of information input a number of times equal to or greater than a number of times that is preset by the medical professional 130 in each process.
When the controller 1550 receives an input completion signal for a current process from the medical professional 130, the controller 1550 may display a user interface corresponding to a process after the current process based on the determined display order. When the controller 1550 receives a signal for selecting one of the plurality of processes, the controller 1550 may display a user interface corresponding to the selected process.
The medical professional 130 may input information needed to perform the process corresponding to the user interface through the user interface. The plurality of processes for imaging the object 140 and the determined display order may be displayed on the user interface.
