Claims
- 1. An apparatus to record data on an optical recording medium, the apparatus comprising:
a recording waveform generator generating a recording waveform having an erase pattern comprising a multi-pulse having at least one pulse where a high level is higher than an erase power level and a low level is lower than the erase power level; and a pickup unit radiating a light onto the optical recording medium according to the generated recording waveform to form a mark or a space.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
a power information management unit reading pulse level information of the erase pattern recorded on the optical recording medium and providing the pulse level information to the recording waveform generator, wherein the recording waveform generator generates the recording waveform having the erase pattern comprising the multi-pulse based on level information of the erase pattern.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the power information management unit receives the pulse level information of the erase pattern from a user and provides the pulse level information to the recording waveform generator.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the power information management unit performs recording and erasing tests of predetermined test data in a test area of the optical recording medium at predetermined value intervals within a predetermined range based on the level information of the erase pattern and selects optimum conditions of test conditions based on results of the tests, and provides the test conditions to the recording waveform generator.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
a channel modulator modulating a channel of data provided from an outside source to generate NRZI data and outputting the NRZI data to the recording waveform generator.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the pickup unit comprises:
a motor rotating the optical recording medium; an optical head radiating the light onto the optical recording medium or receiving laser light reflected from the optical recording medium; a servo circuit servo-controlling the motor and the optical head; and a laser driver driving a laser installed on the optical head.
