Claims
- 1. A method in a data processing system for transmitting accessibility requirements, method comprising:
parsing content received from a computer for a selected indicator responsive to the selected indicator being present, identifying accessibility requirements set for the data processing system to form identified accessibility information; and sending the identified accessibility requirements to the computer.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the identified accessibility requirements include at least one of a font type, a font size, a speech enabled interface, a visual warning for generated sounds, and a high contrast display.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the accessibility information is sent to the computer in an extensible markup language document.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the parsing, querying, and sending steps are performed by a plug-in to a browser program in which the plug-in is activated by the selected indicator.
- 5. The method of claim 1 further comprising:
receiving additional content from the computer in which the additional content is generated by the computer using the identified accessibility information.
- 6. The method of claim 2, wherein the accessibility requirements are settings present at runtime for the data processing system.
- 7. The method of claim 1, wherein the content is a Web page.
- 8. A method in a data processing system for obtaining accessibility requirements from a computer, the method comprising:
sending a Web page to the computer, wherein the Web page includes a selected indictor such that the indicator causes the computer to return accessibility requirements; receiving the accessibility requirements from the computer; and using the accessibility requirements with respect to execution of processes relating to the computer.
- 9. The method of claim 8 further comprising:
creating an accessibility requirements object in association with the computer, wherein the accessibility requirements object is used by the processes in place of accessibility information for the sever data processing system.
- 10. The method of claim 9, wherein the accessibility requirements object is maintained during a session the computer.
- 11. The method of claim 8, wherein the processes include at least one of a servlet and an enterprise java bean.
- 12. The method of claim 8, wherein the accessibility requirements include at least one of a font type, a font size, a speech enabled interface, a visual warning for generated sounds, and a high contrast display.
- 13. A data processing system transmitting accessibility requirements, the data processing system comprising:
a bus system; a communications unit connected to the bus system; a memory connected to the bus system, wherein the memory includes a set of instructions and a processing unit connected to the bus system, wherein the processing unit executes a set of instructions to receive content from a computer; parse the content for a selected indicator; query the data processing system for accessibility information in response to the selected indicator being present; and send the identified accessibility requirements to the computer.
- 14. A data processing system transmitting accessibility requirements, the data processing system comprising:
a bus system; a communications unit connected to the bus system; a memory connected to the bus system, wherein the memory includes a set of instructions and a processing unit connected to the bus system, wherein the processing unit executes a set of instructions to send a Web page to the computer in which the Web page includes a selected indictor such that the indicator causes the computer to return accessibility requirements; receive the accessibility requirements from the computer; and use the accessibility requirements with respect to execution of processes relating to the computer.
- 15. A data processing system for transmitting accessibility requirements, the data processing system comprising:
parsing means for parsing content received from a computer for a selected indicator identifying means, responsive to the selected indicator being present, identifying accessibility requirements set for the data processing system to form identified accessibility information; and sending means for sending the identified accessibility requirements to the computer.
- 16. The data processing system of claim 15, wherein the accessibility requirements include at least one of a font type, a font size, a speech enabled interface, a visual warning for generated sounds, and a high contrast display.
- 17. The data processing system of claim 15, wherein the identified accessibility information is sent to the computer in an extensible markup language document.
- 18. The data processing system of claim 15, wherein the parsing means, querying means, and sending means are located in a plug-in to a browser program in which the plug-in is activated by the selected indicator.
- 19. The data processing system of claim 15 further comprising:
receiving means for receiving additional content from the computer in which the additional content is generated by the computer using the identified accessibility information.
- 20. The data processing system of claim 16, wherein the accessibility requirements are settings present at runtime for the data processing system.
- 21. The data processing system of claim 15, wherein the content is a Web page.
- 22. A data processing system in a data processing system for obtaining accessibility requirements from a computer, the data processing system comprising:
sending means for sending a Web page to the computer, wherein the Web page includes a selected indictor such that the indicator causes the computer to return accessibility requirements; receiving means for receiving the accessibility requirements from the computer; and using means for using the accessibility requirements with respect to execution of processes relating to the computer.
- 23. The data processing system of claim 22 further comprising:
creating means for creating an accessibility requirements object in association with the computer, wherein the accessibility requirements object is used by the processes in place of accessibility information for the sever data processing system.
- 24. The data processing system of claim 23, wherein the accessibility requirements object is maintained during a session the computer.
- 25. The data processing system of claim 22, wherein the processes include at least one of a servlet and an enterprise java bean.
- 26. The data processing system of claim 22, wherein the accessibility requirements include at least one of a font type, a font size, a speech enabled interface, a visual warning for generated sounds, and a high contrast display.
- 27. A computer program product in a computer readable medium for transmitting accessibility requirements, the computer program product comprising:
first instructions for parsing content received from a computer for a selected indicator second instructions, responsive to the selected indicator being present, for identifying accessibility requirements set for the data processing system to form identified accessibility information; and third instructions for sending the identified accessibility requirements to the computer.
- 28. The computer program product of claim 27, wherein the accessibility requirements include at least one of a font type, a font size, a speech enabled interface, a visual warning for generated sounds, and a high contrast display.
- 29. The computer program product of claim 27, wherein the identified accessibility information is sent to the computer in an extensible markup language document.
- 30. The computer program product of claim 27, wherein the parsing, querying, and sending steps are performed by a plug-in to a browser program in which the plug-in is activated by the selected indicator.
- 31. The computer program product in a computer readable medium of claim 28 further comprising:
fourth instructions for receiving additional content from the computer in which the additional content is generated by the computer using the identified accessibility information.
- 32. The computer program product of claim 28, wherein the accessibility requirements are settings present at runtime for the data processing system.
- 33. The computer program product of claim 28, wherein the content is a Web page.
- 34. A computer program product in a data processing system for obtaining accessibility requirements from a computer, the method comprising:
first instructions for sending a Web page to the computer, wherein the Web page includes a selected indictor such that the indicator causes the computer to return accessibility requirements; second instructions for receiving the accessibility requirements from the computer; and third instructions for using the accessibility requirements with respect to execution of processes relating to the computer.
- 35. The computer program product of claim 34 further comprising:
fourth instructions for creating an accessibility requirements object in association with the computer, wherein the accessibility requirements object is used by the processes in place of accessibility information for the sever data processing system.
- 36. The computer program product of claim 35, wherein the accessibility requirements object is maintained during a session the computer.
- 37. The computer program product of claim 34, wherein the processes include at least one of a servlet and an enterprise java bean.
