Claims
- 1. An apparatus for vacuum decarburization refining of a molten steel, comprising: a one-legged, straight barrel snorkel for immersion in a molten steel within a ladle; a vacuum tank provided on an upper part of the snorkel; an exhaust-evacuation apparatus for reducing a pressure in the vacuum tank and a gas cooler for cooling an exhaust gas discharged from the vacuum tank; and a multifunctional lance having a function of blowing an oxygen gas against the surface of the molten steel within the snorkel and a function as a heating burner, characterized in that:the vacuum tank comprises an upper tank and a lower tank, with a canopy located at an upper end of the upper tank and the snorkel disposed at a lower end of the lower tank, the lower tank has a space section having a larger inner diameter than an inner diameter of the snorkel disposed at the lower end of the lower tank, a smaller-diameter section with a space section having an inner diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the snorkel and larger than an outer diameter of the top-blown lance disposed between and integral with the lower tank and the upper tank, and a heating burner provided on a side wall of the upper tank in the vicinity of the canopy.
- 2. An apparatus for vacuum decarburization refining of a molten steel, comprising: a one-legged, straight barrel snorkel for immersion in a molten steel within a ladle; a vacuum tank provided on an upper part of the snorkel; an exhaust-evacuation apparatus for reducing a pressure in the vacuum tank and a gas cooler for cooling an exhaust gas discharged from the vacuum tank; and a multifunctional lance having a function of blowing an oxygen gas against the surface of the molten steel within the snorkel and a function as a heating burner, characterized in that:the vacuum tank comprises an upper tank and a lower tank, with a canopy located at an upper end of the upper tank and the snorkel disposed at a lower end of the lower tank, the lower tank has a space section having a larger inner diameter than an inner diameter of the snorkel disposed at the lower end of the lower tank, a smaller-diameter section with a space section having an inner diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the snorkel and larger than an outer diameter of the top-blown lance disposed between and integral with the lower tank and the upper tank, and a heating burner provided on a side wall of the upper tank in the vicinity of the canopy, a duct provided between the upper tank and the gas cooler with a duct inlet provided on the side wall of the upper tank, said duct including an ascendingly inclined duct section inclined upward from the duct inlet to a top of the ascendingly inclined duct section; a descendingly inclined duct section inclined downward from the top of the ascendingly inclined duct section, and a dust collection pot detachably mounted at a lower part of the descendingly inclined duct section.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 1 wherein at least one heating burner provided on the side wall of the upper tank has a combustion gas nozzle;the combustion gas nozzle of the at least one heating burner is located 0.3 to 3 m below a lower surface of the canopy of the upper tank and having a combustion gas ejection angle defined as an angle of a direction of combustion gas ejected from the nozzle to a vertical direction in a range of from 20 to 90°.
- 4. A apparatus according to claim 1 wherein two heating burners are provided facing each other at an angle of swing of 15 to 30°.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 1 wherein the smaller-diameter section comprises fan-shaped shielding sections integral with a side wall of the lower tank at different vertical levels dividing the smaller-diameter section into a plurality of parts defining the space section of the smaller-diameter section.
