Claims
- 1. A tool for loosening the diaphragm and leaf fat during the evisceration of carcasses conveyed on a slaughter line suspended in gambrels or hooks, where the abdomen and breast have been cut open, the hams divided and the fat end loosened, comprising a hoop device designed for insertion in the breast opening of the carcass, which device at the breast opening has a gap of such size as to permit the passage of protruding intestines, and wherein said tool has a pressing device working in concert with the hoop device, which pressing device can be moved independently of the hoop device in a lengthwise direction of the carcass.
- 2. The tool according to claim 1, wherein the hoop device comprises two knives which in their work position are designed to make a pre-cut in the carcass diaphragm muscle at the breast opening.
- 3. A method for cutting throught the connections of the diaphragm and intestines with the spinal column in carcasses conveyed on a slaughter line suspended in gabrels or hooks, where the abdomen and breast have been cut open, the hams divided and the fat end loosened, in connection with the evisceration of the carcass, wherein a tool is moved along the spinal column of the carcass, wherein a tool mainly in the form of a pair of tongs with closable jaws having cutting edges on the inwardly directed sides of the jaws and a point or a sharp edge on the outside, is moved in an open state with the jaws foremost down to and through the diaphragm part of the carcass adjacent to the spinal column, next, the jaws of the tool are closed and thereafter, the tool is moved up along the spinal column, whereby the diaphragm part adjacent to the spinal column and the connections between the intestines and the spinal column are cut through by the tool.
