Claims
- 1. Furnace for treating wastes by hearting them, comprising a metal furnace housing, a well of refractory material disposed in the housing and having at opposite ends thereof respective electrodes for electrical heating, a charging opening for wastes at the upper end of the housing, an outlet for slag material at the lower end of the housing, the combination therewith wherein the well is a self-supporting tubular body which is detachably arranged in the metal housing; an opening at the upper end of the well; a cover in the metal housing which cover has a larger cross section than the cross section of the tubular body and can close said opening.
- 2. Furnace according to claim 1, wherein the external dimensions of the tubular body are smaller than the internal dimensions of storage containers for receiving and storing the slag material therein, so that the tubular body itself can be received and stored in one of said storage containers.
- 3. Furnace according to claim 1, wherein an annular gap is provided between the metal housing and the tubular body, and wherein the annular gap is provided with thermal insulation.
- 4. Furnace according to claim 1, wherein the tubular body is armored.
- 5. Furnace according to claim 1, wherein the tubular body is covered by a sheet metal jacket.
- 6. Furnace according to claim 1, wherein the metal housing has internal brackets, wherein the tubular body is seated on the internal brackets of the metal housing, and wherein one of the electrodes is in the form of a ring electrode and is arranged under the brackets.
- 7. Furnace according to claim 6, wherein the ring electrode is seated in a cup which can be inserted into the metal housing from below.
- 8. Furnace according to claim 1, wherein the tubular body is set under pressure by the cover forming the top side of the metal housing via a deformable intermediate member.
- 9. Furnace according to claim 1, wherein another of the electrodes is supported in the cover movably transversely to the cover surface, which in particular, is mounted eccentrically in the cover and is arranged, inclined or curved such that its lower end lies in the axis of the tubular body.
- 10. Furnace according to claim 4, including a movable grate underneath the tubular body; and wherein the grate serves as a closable outlet of the metal housing.
