1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a method and kit for free drawing a design from a predetermined starting point, such as a plurality of lines, which is simple and induces creativity in the player.
2. Description of Related Art
Methods of producing drawings are known. U.S. Pat. No. 1,753,344 describes a method of producing drawings composed of a series of lines whose length and direction follow a predetermined plan and whose delineation produces a completed drawing. The drawing is produced by placing a ruler or a straight edge to intersect a starting point and a successive index point and drawing a line of a predetermined length from the index starting point to the successive index using the ruler or straight edge. Thereafter, other one of irregularly placed points are connected with the ruler or straight edge until the drawing is completed.
U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2006/0078855 describes a highly structured method for creating an artwork. The method includes a kit and teaching method for creating an artwork includes instructing the user to mark a surface with a line to divide the surface into sections, and to draw a pattern or patterns from provided samples within one of the sections. The user is then instructed to repeat this pattern in one or more other sections.
The above-described highly structured methods provide steps for drawing a predetermined artwork or pattern from a predetermined plan. It is desirable to provide a game for producing a creative drawing using free hand drawing from a predetermined starting pattern.
The present invention relates to a method and kit for playing a drawing game. A first player determines a stating pattern, such as a predetermined number of random lines. The second player reviews the starting pattern and connects points of the starting pattern by freehand to create a creative picture. Thereafter, the drawing game can continue with the second player determining a starting pattern and the first player creating a creative picture by connecting points of the new starting pattern by freehand.
The invention will be more fully described by reference to the following drawings.
Reference will now be made in greater detail to a preferred embodiment of the invention, an example of which is illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Wherever possible, the same reference numerals will be used throughout the drawings and the description to refer to the same or like parts.
Referring to
In block 14, a second starting pattern is determined. The second starting pattern can be the same or different than the first starting pattern. In one embodiment, the second starting pattern can be a predetermined number of lines. The random lines can be straight or curvy or a meandering shape. In one embodiment, five random lines are used as the starting pattern. Alternatively, the starting pattern can be a predetermined number of circles, points and the like. In one embodiment, five random lines of the second starting pattern can be positioned in the same or different positions than the five random lines of the first starting pattern. In block 15, a player reviews the second starting pattern and connects portions of the second starting pattern to create a creative picture. In block 16, the player creating the picture signs the completed picture. Blocks 11-16 can be repeated one or more players.
A kit can include a set of instructions 25 for playing the drawing game according to blocks 11-16. Instructions 25 can include rules and examples of the steps of the drawing game. The kit can include medium 20 and device 21.
It is to be understood that the above-described embodiments are illustrative of only a few of the many possible specific embodiments, which can represent applications of the principles of the invention. Numerous and varied other arrangements can be readily devised in accordance with these principles by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
