Claims
- 1. A mounting bolt for use in mounting toilet stools, comprising,
an elongated single-headed bolt having a lower end and an upper end, and an elongated threaded shank of constant and uniform diameter therebetween, a threaded nut removably threadable onto the upper end of the threaded shank; an enlarged elongated flat planar head of constant thickness on the lower end having a width the same as the diameter of the shank, and a longitudinal length larger than the diameter of the shank. the head having an elongated center axis extending along its length, and an indicia mark formed in the shank at the upper end of the bolt visually indicating the position of the center axis to assist the placement and tightening of the removable threaded nut on the shaft when the position of the head is concealed as the nut is being threadably mounted on the upper end of the bolt, the upper end of the bolt comprising the upper end of the threaded shank.
- 2. A toilet stool having a horizontal base with a perimeter portion to engage a floor, and a recess opening therein within the perimeter portion, a floor ring fitted within the recess opening and having a perimeter floor-engaging horizontal flange and a center opening thereon in communication with a downwardly extending pipe, the improvement comprising
a pair of oppositely dispose slots in the flange comprised of a wide portion terminating in an elongated narrow portion, the slots extending vertically through the flange, the narrow portion of the slot having a lower edge terminated in a groove and having a width greater than the narrow portion, an elongated single-headed bolt having upper and lower ends and an elongated threaded shank therebetween, with the lower end having an enlarged elongated flat planar head of constant thickness thereon positioned in the groove, the head on the bolt having a width the same as the diameter of the shank and similar to that of the narrow portion of the slot and a longitudinal length greater than the width of the narrow portion, the longitudinal length thereof having an elongated center axis, a threaded nut removably threaded onto the upper end of the threaded shank; an indicia mark formed in the shank at the upper end of the bolt visually indicating the position of the center axis to assist the placement and tightening of the removable threaded nut on the shaft when the position of the head is concealed as the nut is being threadably mounted in the upper end of the bolt, the upper end of the bolt comprising the upper end of the threaded shank.
- 3. A bolt cap for attachment of a toilet bowl to a floor support system, comprising,
a cap body having a top, and a flat bottom surface, a recess in the bottom of the body with a seal ring surrounding the same, a threaded bore extending upwardly from the recess to threadably receive a vertical toilet bowl mounting bolt, the recess being sufficiently large to receive a nut threadably mounted on the toilet bowl mounting bolt.
- 4. A retainer ring for retaining a threaded bolt within an aperture in a support system, comprising,
a flat flexible member with an aperture therein, threads formed in the flexible member within the aperture to receive a threaded bolt, and ribs formed on an upper surface of the flat flexible member for facilitating the manual rotation thereof when mounted on a threaded bolt.
- 5. The retainer ring of claim 4 wherein the flat flexible member is thicker around the aperture therein to better permit space for the formation of threads in the aperture.
- 6. A toilet stool having a horizontal base with a perimeter portion to engage a floor, the improvement comprising,
a recess opening in the perimeter portion, an upstanding threaded bolt in the recess opening with a member on a lower end thereof to hold the threaded bolt against upper movement through the recess, a retainer ring on the bolt above the perimeter portion to support the threaded bolt against movement in the recess, the retainer ring comprising a flat flexible member with an aperture thereon, threads formed in the flexible member within the aperture to receive a threaded bolt, and ribs formed on an upper surface of the flat flexible member for facilitating the manual rotation thereof when mounted on a threaded bolt.
- 7. The toilet stool of claim 6 wherein the perimeter portion has an upper surface and an upper surface and an upper end of the threaded bolt extends out of the perimeter portion, a cap body threaded on the upper end of the threaded bolt, the cap body having a top, and a flat bottom surface engaging the upper surface of the perimeter portion, a recess in the bottom of the body with a seal ring surrounding the same, the recess being large enough to receive a nut threadably mounted the threaded bolt and bearing against the perimeter portion.
