Claims
- 1. A method of customizing a seller application that facilitates communication of listings to a network-based transaction facility, the method including:
facilitating selection of at least one targeted site from a plurality of targeted sites presented to a user, wherein the plurality of targeted sites are supported by the network-based transaction facility; and configuring the seller application according to the at least one targeted site selected.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the configuring includes configuring the seller application to communicate with the network-based transaction facility according to conventions associated with the at least one targeted site selected.
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein the configuring includes configuring the seller application to present information to the user in a manner consistent with the conventions associated with the at least one targeted site selected.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein the seller application includes a default targeted site.
- 5. The method of claim 4 wherein the targeted default site is the site from which the user downloaded the seller application.
- 6. The method of claim 5 wherein the user may edit the default targeted site.
- 7. The method of claim 6 wherein the network-based transaction facility provides the plurality of targeted sites presented to the user.
- 8. The method of claim 7 wherein the user accesses the network-based transaction facility via the seller application.
- 9. The method of claim 1 wherein the seller application running offline allows the user to select at least one targeted site from a plurality of targeted sites.
- 10. The method of claim 1 wherein the seller application maintains a list of the plurality of targeted sites presented to the user.
- 11. The method of claim 1 including selecting a primary language for displaying and entering information at the seller application.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein the primary language selected may be different than the language of the targeted site with which the user is communicating.
- 13. The method of claim 12 wherein the primary language selected is translated into the language of the targeted site with which the user intends to communicate.
- 14. The method of claim 13 wherein the seller application, working offline, translates the language of the targeted site with which the user intends to communicate.
- 15. The method of claim 14 wherein the network-based transaction facility translates the primary language into the language of the targeted site with which the user intends to communicate.
- 16. The method of claim 1 wherein configuring includes setting up the seller application so that where relevant, operations involving currency are in the currency type configured for the at least one targeted site selected.
- 17. The method of claim 16 wherein currency operations include inputting currency values, displaying currency values, and calculating currency values.
- 18. The method of claim 1 wherein configuring includes initializing the seller application to utilize the transaction listing formats available in each of the at least one targeted sites chosen.
- 19. The method of claim 1 wherein configuring further includes setting up the seller application to utilize the transaction listing categories available in each of the corresponding country sites chosen.
- 20. A seller application capable of being customized to facilitate communication of listings to a network-based transaction facility, the seller application including:
an interface module to provide to facilitate selection of at least one targeted site from a plurality of targeted sites presented to a user, wherein the plurality of targeted sites are supported by the network-based transaction facility; and a configuration and registration module to configure the seller application according to the at least one targeted site selected.
- 21. The seller application of claim 20 wherein to configure includes configuring the seller application to communicate with the network-based transaction facility according to conventions associated with the at least one targeted site selected.
- 22. The seller application of claim 20 wherein to configure includes configuring the seller application to present information to the user in a manner consistent with the conventions associated with the at least one targeted site selected.
- 23. The seller application of claim 20 wherein the seller application includes a default targeted site.
- 24. The seller application of claim 23 wherein the targeted default site is the site from which the user downloaded the seller application.
- 25. The seller application of claim 24 wherein the user may edit the default targeted site.
- 26. The seller application of claim 25 wherein the network-based transaction facility provides the plurality of targeted sites presented to the user.
- 27. The seller application of claim 26 wherein the user accesses the network-based transaction facility via the seller application.
- 28. The seller application of claim 20 wherein the seller application running offline allows the user to select at least one targeted site from a plurality of targeted sites.
- 29. The seller application of claim 20 wherein the seller application maintains a list of the plurality of targeted sites presented to the user.
- 30. The seller application of claim 20 including selecting a primary language for displaying and entering information at the seller application.
- 31. The seller application of claim 30 wherein the primary language selected may be different than the default language of the targeted site with which the user is communicating.
- 32. The seller application of claim 31 wherein the primary language selected is translated into the language of the targeted site with which the user intends to communicate.
- 33. The seller application of claim 32 wherein the seller application, working offline, translates the language of the targeted site with which the user intends to communicate.
- 34. The seller application of claim 33 wherein the network-based transaction facility translates the primary language into the language of the targeted site with which the user intends to communicate.
- 35. The seller application of claim 20 wherein configuring includes setting up the seller application so that where relevant, operations involving currency are in the currency type configured for the at least one targeted site selected.
- 36. The seller application of claim 35 wherein currency operations include inputting currency values, displaying currency values, and calculating currency values.
- 37. The seller application of claim 20 wherein configuring includes initializing the seller application to utilize the transaction listing formats available in each of the at least one targeted sites chosen.
- 38. The seller application of claim 20 wherein configuring further includes setting up the seller application to utilize the transaction listing categories available in each of the corresponding country sites chosen.
- 39. A system to customize a seller application according to a targeted site, the system including:
an interface module at the seller application to facilitate user selection of a targeted site from a plurality of targeted sites presented to the user, wherein the plurality of targeted sites are supported by the network-based transaction facility; and a configuration and registration module at the seller application to configure the seller application according to the at least one targeted site selected.
