Claims
- 1. A method for backing up data in a computer system from a plurality of primary data sources to a secondary data source, the method comprising:
interleaving data from the plurality of primary data sources in the secondary data source, wherein interleaving includes:
determining a percentage bandwidth for each primary data source during a transfer, wherein the percentage bandwidth is defined as a total amount of data from a primary data source divided by a total amount of data from all primary data sources.
- 2. The method of claim 1, further including transferring only used bits from each primary data source to the secondary data source based on the percentage bandwidth of that primary data source.
- 3. A method for backing up data in a computer system from a plurality of primary data sources to a secondary data source, the method comprising:
interleaving data from the plurality of primary data sources in the secondary data source, wherein each primary data source participates in direct proportion to its total data.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein the data includes only used bits.
