Claims
- 1. A method for remotely printing a document comprising the steps of:
(a) generating a document on a mobile device, said device having wireless communication capability; (b) accessing from said mobile device a wireless communication tag to obtain a set of information said information including an address of a destination device and said destination devices capabilities; (c) sending said set of information and said document to a data processing center; (d) sending said document to said destination device address; and (e) printing said document at said destination device.
- 2. The method of claim 1 further including the step of performing any necessary document translation.
- 3. The method of claim 1 further including sending a confirmation notification to said mobile device that said message was sent to said destination device address.
- 4. The method of claim 1, further including the step of determining said recipient preferences and sending said message according to said recipient preferences.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein said mobile device is a personal digital assistant.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein said mobile device is a laptop computer.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein said mobile device is a mobile phone.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein said mobile device is a pager.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein said destination device is a photocopier.
- 9. The method of claim 1, wherein said destination is a facsimile machine.
- 10. The method of claim 1, wherein said destination is a printer.
- 11. The method of claim 1, wherein said wireless communication is infrared.
- 12. A system for remotely printing a document comprising:
(a) a first data processing device having a wireless communication capability and at least one document; (b) a wireless communication tag having information about a destination device, said information including a destination device address; (c) a second data processing center for receiving at least one of said set of documents and said destination device information for sending said document to said destination device.
- 13. The system of claim 12, wherein said second data processing center performs any necessary data translations and transcoding.
- 14. The system of claim 12, wherein said mobile device is a personal digital assistant.
- 15. The system of claim 12, wherein said mobile device is a laptop computer.
- 16. The system of claim 12, wherein said destination device is a photocopier.
- 17. The system of claim 12, wherein said destination is a facsimile machine.
- 18. The system of claim 12, wherein said destination is a printer.
- 19. The system of claim 12, wherein said wireless communication is infrared.
- 20. A method for remotely printing a document comprising the steps of:
a) sending information from a wireless tag to a first data processing center, said information including a destination device address and said destination device capabilities; b) sending from said first data processing center said information and a document to a second data processing center; c) sending from said second data processing center to said destination device address said document; and d) printing said document at said destination device.
- 21. The method of claim 20, wherein said destination is a printer.
- 22. The method of claim 20, wherein said destination is a facsimile.
- 23. The method of claim 20, wherein said wireless communication is infrared.
