Claims
- 1. A method for selling goods and/or services over a communication network, comprising the steps of;
a. providing an compilation of digital images comprising a plurality of digital images that visually represent said goods and/or services; b. forwarding said plurality of digital images from said compilation to a requesting user over a communication network for presentation to said requesting user on a display device of a computer in a presentation format that still allows use of said display device for continued operation of applications on said requesting user's computer.
- 2. A method according to claim 1 wherein said requesting user selects said plurality of digital images.
- 3. A method according to claim 1 wherein said requesting user selects a desired format of how said plurality of digital images are to be displayed.
- 4. A method according to claim 3 wherein said desired format comprises a particular color of an item associated with each of said plurality of images are to be displayed.
- 5. A method according to claim 1 wherein said compilation of images represents a plurality of different types of goods and/or services.
- 6. A method according to claim 5 wherein said plurality of images were selected by said requesting user.
- 7. A method according to claim 6 wherein said selected plurality of images relate to a particular good or service.
- 8. A method according to claim 6 wherein said selected plurality of images are selected based on one or more criteria.
- 9. A method according to claim 6 wherein metadata associated with said images in said compilation of images is used for selecting said plurality of images.
- 10. A method according to claim 8 wherein said one or more criteria is selected from the following:
a particular type good or service; cost; location of service; color of good; brand name.
- 11. A method according to claim 1 wherein a controlling computer is used to maintain said compilation of images and for forwarding of said plurality of images.
- 12. A method according to claim 1 wherein said compilation of images are maintained by a business establishment.
- 13. A method according to claim 1 wherein said compilation is presented to said user in a preselected pattern.
- 14. A method according to claim 13 wherein said preselected pattern comprises scrolling said compilation of images on said display device being used by said user.
- 15. A method according to claim 1 wherein said user display device is controlled by a computer, said compilation is scrolled across said display device.
- 16. A method according to claim 13 wherein said user display device is controlled by a computer, said compilation is presented atop another program being run by said computer.
- 17. A method according to claim 1 further comprising the step of said user making an inquiry with respect to one of said images of said compilation.
- 18. A method according to claim 1 wherein a controlling computer monitors the sale of goods and/or services.
- 19. A method according to claim 1 wherein a controlling computer monitors users of purchased goods and/or services.
- 20. A method according to claim 1 wherein a high resolution image is transferred to a requesting user when said requesting user selects an image with respect to investigating a potential in purchasing the goods and/or services associated with said image.
- 21. A method according to claim 1 wherein said goods and/or services comprises the ordering of a hard copy print of at least one of said plurality of images.
- 22. A method according to claim 1 wherein a comment box is associated with each of said plurality of images.
- 23. A method according to claim 22 wherein said goods and/or services comprises the ordering of a hard copy print of at least one of said plurality of images.
- 24. A method according to claim 23 wherein comments provided in said comment box are provided on the back of said hard copy print.
- 25. A method according to claim 1 wherein said digital images are displayed in predetermined sequence.
- 26. A method according to claim 25 wherein an advertising message is provided at selected interval in said predetermined sequence.
- 27. A system for selling goods and/or services using a compilation of images over a communication network, said images representing the goods and/or services being offered for sale, comprises:
a controlling computer for controlling the forwarding of a plurality of images from said compilation of images to a user computer over said communication for display associated with said user computer, wherein each of said users having the ability to create said plurality of images based on information associated with each of said images in said compilation.
- 28. A system for selling goods and/or services according to claim 27 wherein said requesting user selects a desired format of how said plurality of digital images are to be displayed.
- 29. A method according to claim 28 wherein said desired format comprises a particular color of an item associates with said plurality of images that are to be displayed.
- 30. A method according to claim 27 wherein said compilation of images represents a plurality of different types of goods and/or services.
- 31. A method according to claim 27 wherein said selected plurality of images relate to a particular good or service.
- 32. A method according to claim 27 wherein said selected plurality of images are selected based on one or more criteria.
- 33. A method according to claim 27 wherein metadata associated with said images in said complication of images is used for selecting said plurality of images.
- 34. A method according to claim 32 wherein said one or more criteria is selected from the following:
a particular type good or service; cost; location of service; color of good; brand name.
- 35. A method according to claim 27 wherein a controlling computer is used to maintain said compilation of images and for forwarding of said plurality of images.
- 36. A method according to claim 27 wherein said compilation of images are maintained by a business establishment.
- 37. A method according to claim 27 wherein said compilation is presented said user in a preselected pattern.
- 38. A method according to claim 37 wherein said preselected pattern comprises scrolling said compilation of images on said display device being used by said user.
- 39. A method according to claim 27 said compilation is scrolled across said display device.
- 40. A method according to claim 27 wherein user display device is controlled by a computer, said compilation is presented atop another program being run by said computer.
- 41. A method according to claim 27 further comprising the step of said user making an inquiry with respect to one of said images of said compilation.
- 42. A computer software program for selling goods and/or services to a user over a user computer using a compilation of images maintained by a controlling computer over a communication network, said computer software program when loaded onto a computer will cause said computer to perform the step of:
a) forwarding a plurality of digital images from said compilation to said user over a communication network for presentation to said user on a display device of said computer in a presentation format that still allows use of said display device for continued operation of applications on said requesting user's computer.
- 43. A method for selling goods and/or services over a communication network, comprising the steps of;
a. providing a compilation of digital images comprising a plurality of digital images that visually represent said goods and/or services; b. automatically forwarding said plurality of digital images from said compilation to a requesting user over a communication network for presentation to said requesting user on a display device based on the geographical area of said requesting user.
- 44. A method according to claim 43 wherein an instant message is provided on said display device between a seller of said goods and/or services and a purchaser over said communication network.
- 45. A method according to claim 44 wherein said instant message is provided in a chat window on said display device.
- 46. A method according to claim 43 wherein the address and/or zip code is used to identify the geographical area of said requesting user.
- 47. A method according to claim 43 wherein the network connection origination of said requesting user is used to identify the geographical area of said requesting user.
- 48. A method for selling goods and/or services over a communication network among a plurality of users using a controlling computer operated by an internet service provider, comprising the steps of:
controlling the forwarding of said compilation of digital images to said plurality of users over said communication network by said controlling computer wherein said digital images in said compilation are displayed in a predetermined sequence, wherein each of said users having the ability to view information associated with said digital images in said compilation or provide an inquiry with respect to at least one of said digital images in said compilation.
- 49. A method according to claim 48 wherein said internet service provider sends an e-mail to one of said plurality of users after said one user has finished viewing said compilation of images.
- 50. A method according to claim 49 wherein said e-mail includes an electronic address where said compilation can be viewed again.
- 51. A method for sharing a compilation of digital images over a communication network among a plurality of users using a controlling computer, comprising the steps of:
controlling the forwarding of digital images to said plurality of users over said communication network by said controlling computer wherein selected images of said digital images are shared with said plurality of users in accordance within a designated geographical area of said plurality of users.
- 52. A method according to claim 51 wherein said sharing of images is associated with the sale of goods and/or services being sold by one of said plurality of users.
