- 13. A method of permitting a user to spatially access and playback time-based information having a plurality of segments, the method comprising:
- (a) mapping each of the plurality of segments to a corresponding one of a plurality of mapped spatial coordinates;
- (b) providing a user interface which defines an input coordinate space;
- (c) determining an input spatial coordinate of a portion of a user's body within the input coordinate space using the user interface;
- (d) accessing a segment of the time-based information corresponding to the input spatial coordinate;
- (e) playing back the segment of the time-based information in its original form; and
- (f) producing a sensory output which corresponds to the segment for sensing by the portion of the user's body, wherein the sensory output aids the user in obtaining a sense of the whole of the time-based information in the input coordinate space, and wherein the sensory output is in a form of a temperature.
- 14. A system for permitting a user to spatially access and playback time-based information having a plurality of segments, the system comprising:
- a timing-to-spatial converter which maps each of the plurality of segments to a corresponding one of a plurality of mapped spatial coordinates;
- a user interface which defines an input coordinate space, the user interface operative to determine an input spatial coordinate of a portion of a user's body within the input coordinate space;
