Claims
- 1. A method, comprising the steps of:
executing an application program at a system that includes at least a processor and a memory; receiving a plurality of bits at the system for use by the application program; determining if at least one of the plurality of received bits is improperly transmitted to someplace other than for use by the application program; and transmitting a message if it is determined that the at least one of the plurality of received bits is improperly transmitted.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of determining if the at least one of the plurality of bits is improperly transmitted includes the step of:
determining if the at least one of the plurality of received bits is improperly transmitted from the system to another device via at least one communications link.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of determining if the at least one of the plurality of bits is improperly transmitted includes the step of:
determining if the at least one of the plurality of received bits is improperly transmitted to a storage device in the system.
- 4. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of displaying a video using the received bits.
- 5. The method of claim 1, further comprising the step of displaying a reading material using the received bits.
- 6. An apparatus for operation with a system including a memory, said apparatus comprising:
a circuit that determines if any of a plurality of bits received by the system are improperly transmitted to someplace other than for use by an application program running in the system and that transmits a message if it is determined that any of the received bits are improperly transmitted.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the circuit determines if one or more of the plurality of bits received are improperly transmitted to a device over at least one communications link.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the circuit determines if one or more of the plurality of bits received are improperly transmitted to a storage device in the system.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the plurality of bits received include a video stream that is displayed by the system.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the plurality of bits received include a reading material that is displayed by the system.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the apparatus is a Personal Computer (PC) card for use in a computer.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the apparatus is a board for use in a computer.
- 13. A system, comprising:
means for receiving a plurality of bits at an apparatus including a memory and a processor; means for determining if at least one of the plurality of received bits is improperly transmitted to someplace other than the memory; and means for transmitting a message if it is determined that at least one of the plurality of received bits is improperly transmitted.
